Greetings,

Irrespective of some of the other previous questions about dark matter, I was wondering considering that WIMPs (Weakly Interactive Massive Particles) were soley suggested because they rectified some of the problems with how much the universe actually weighs because of calculations...SOOO...

My question is this: IF gravity is such a deciding factor for figuring out the total mass of the universe AND Newtonian Physics still describes how we calculate the total mass of the universe, THEN how, if at all, does Relativity effect the supposed idea of Dark Matter?

IOW, Someone explained to me that in order to calculate the total mass of the universe you had to use Newtonian Physics, I wanted to know if Modern Physics could describe it (the total mass of the universe) better?

I just read "the day after roswell" and from what colonel corso said in there it seems likely they all could have been results from an alien attack.

I honestly think it was faked. To start, there are too many things wrong with the video tape like the shadows going the wrong direction and the flag waving and how you are able to see Armstrong coming down the side of the shuttle when the sun (which is the ONLY source of light) is on the other side of the shuttle. And really, what proof do we have that we DID land on the moon besides the astronauts testimonies and some moon rocks which have the same make up as earth rocks so they could have come from my backyard for all I know. And there was plenty of motive for us to fake it. When WWII ended the cold war started to see who was going to be the dominant force in the world, this started as an arms race in which both countries (US and USSR) amased enough nukes to blow the world up like 25 times over. Since this did not prove a winner of the cold war it became the Space Race to see who had the bigger balls. So basically whoever made it to the moon first was going to be the dominant force.

What is it about today's technology that prohibits us from being able to fly shuttles without issues? Seems as though it was an o-ring, then heat tiles, etc. I don't get it!!

Okay, if you go outside and light a firecracker it will explode and its pieces will come to rest. But according to the logic that apparently guides the universe they would not come to rest but accelerate outward and would never come to rest. Is the big bang theory a gross oversimplifacation of the orgins of the universe?

We were given a Fotar 675 telescope as a gift, it has an instruction book but it might as well be in Chinese for all the sense it makes. I assembled the unit but I don't think I did it properly. Is there a website or a pdf available that goes into indepth instruction and operation?

Would we be able to see land on the other side? Would it be flat? How small would the other side look?

You don't have to just answer those questions ^ lol, Those are just to add to my statement.

Here is the forward I got:

Mars

The Red Planet is about to be spectacular!

This month and next, Earth is catching up with Mars in an encounter that
will culminate in the closest approach between the two planets in
recorded history. The next time Mars may come this close is
in 2287. Due to the way Jupiter's gravity tugs on
Mars and perturbs its orbit, astronomers can only be
certain that Mars has not come this close to Earth
in the Last 5,000 years, but it may be as long as
60,000 years before it happens again.

The encounter will culminate on August 27th when
Mars comes to within 34,649,589 miles of Earth and
will be (next to the moon) the brightest object in
the night sky. It will attain a magnitude of -2.9
and will appear 25.11 arc seconds wide. At a modest
75-power magnification

Mars will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye.
Mars will be easy to spot. At the
beginning of August it will rise in the east at 10p.m.
and reach it

I've heard scientists say they dismiss the traditional idea of aliens traveling in a spaceship to get here because it would take too many light years. However, I believe there are other dimensions that could get them here very quickly and that they are living on Earth as we speak.

Now, every time Apollo 15 is mentioned, somebody brings up 'the stamp thing'. It could have all been forgotten and NASA wouldn't have this dark cloud over Apollo 15 for posterity. (Besides, lots of other astronauts on other flights admitted to bringing 'unauthorized' envelopes on their flights - like Tom Stafford, for one, in his book, "We Have Capture").

Imagine this. You are in a glass sphere (15x15 feet) that has a glass floor located in the middle of it. This sphere is out in space heading towards an unspecified direction at 102mph. In this sphere on this floor is:

* You
* a flat bed with no sheets
* an automatically climate controlled environment
* a spherically shaped fridge with unlimted food and drink (healthy selection of various cuisines)
* a spherical toilet

NOTHING ELSE. No television or no books. No way to break the glass. No way to end your life!

Can one die of boredom? Would you go crazy? How wacked would this be?

I have thought, where does heat come from? The main thing that provides heat on earth is the Sun, chemical and physical activities within the planet also generate heat, but the absolute main source is the sun.

If the sun ceased to exist, if it one day just dissapeared, would the entire earth freeze over? If it would, does that mean that cold is the natural temperature of the empty universe?

If things are cold without the sun, or stars, or other astral bodies radiating heat, does that mean the universe in itself *is* cold?
