Do a bit of reading. NASA has been talking a lot about new trips to the moon recently.
As for did we go before, the answer is yes. There are some people who do not want to believe astronauts went to the moon. However, all reliable evidence says we went to the moon. One of the biggest pieces of evidence is the triangulation of the broadcasts from the moon. The Soviets really wanted to be first to the moon or that the US never got there. They were listening in on all of the broadcasts we made. If those broadcasts were coming from any place other than the moon or its orbit, they could have figured it out by triangulating. They would have announced to the world that the moon landing was fake just to save their pride. However, they knew that the transmissions were coming from the moon and therefore the US had beat them to the moon.
As for a reason to go to the moon, there is a pretty good reason. There is either an isotope of helium that can be used to build a very safe and efficient nuclear reactor to produce power. This isotope is not common on earth. However, the soil of the moon is saturated in it. It has been deposited there for billions of years by the sun. There could easily be operations on the moon to harvest this gas and we could use it to move to a much cleaner power source. If we had maintained going there, we could have made the trip economically feasible by now. Humans are like that. Give us enough time and a reason to figure it out and we will figure it out.

The US has to go to the moon because the Chinese are going. The Apollo missions and the soviet Zond missions brought back soil samples of the same stuff, boring old anorthosite. The Chinese, by going, will prove that the Soviets and the US never went and were really working together to make the US look like the supreme technological superpower just to piss off Mao. But because the Chinese are going NASA has to go too, plant tonnes of evidence, lunar landers and cover everything with cheese because that´s what the moon is really made of...
Or is there anything that would prove that neither the Russians or the US went there in the first place? And is there any reason why you don´t read newspapers because it is fairly well known that the US has plans to go back and that the chinese are going too.

Why should we not have had the technology back then? We built the atom bomb, the jet fighter, the SR-71 Blackbird, the computer processor, the television, the submarine, the aircraft carrier, the ICBM. What, specifically, was so hard about going to the Moon that it was beyond the technology of the time?
As for the USA having no plans to go to the Moon, where did you get that notion? Project Constellation is the new lunar program, aiming for lunar landings in 2020.

We have the technology to return to the Moon but not the desire to do so. Such a project is monumentally expensive and extremely dangerous. Back in the Space Race, the US had a burning desire to beat the Soviets to the Moon; it was, after all, a matter of national pride. But budget cuts forced NASA to realign its priorities, and manned missions to the Moon were cut from its agenda.
NASA is tentatively planning a return to the Moon by 2020. Whether or not Congress allocates sufficient funding for this venture remains to be seen.
By the way, it's a basic scientific fact that we landed on the Moon. The evidence in favor of the landings is so overwhelming that to reject the landings is to reject all modern science. The fact that NASA hasn't had the funding to return to the Moon since 1972 proves absolutely nothing.

Actually the George W. has made travel to the moon a very high priority for the next generation of space shuttle. The only difference this time is that he wants private companies to foot the bulk of the bill for it. Research and Developement for the newest reusable space craft is in the works right now.
Also, the current space shuttle is focused on finishing other projects like the repair of the Hubble Space Telescope and the International Space Station.
One thing that has not been factored in for this drive to the moon is the cost to NASA. The president wants all this stuff to happen but has not done a couple of things; he has cut the NASA budget so badly that the funds for these programs are almost non existent and he hasn't figured out a way to make it viable for private companies to make the leap to space.

NASA has budgeted for moon missions after 2017, lol when the budget for the ISS magically disappears. Of course we have been to the moon, we had the technology back then, we are not going again because the last time we were there we were attacked by aliens(apollo 13 and many others), and the aliens already have a base there.

We went to the moon.We are going back approx 2020.We probably wouldn't attempt to go with 60's technology today. It wasn't great, your home computer has more capacity than NASA had back then.We had American spirit and drive though. We had people willing to push the envelope. We beat the Soviets(our arch enemy then). We have reflectors on the moon.If it is just right and you have a good telescope, you can see the lunar lander. We went,it wasn't shot at Disney, that is ludicrous. There is nothing,NOTHING to suggest we didn't.Only whacko conspiracy nuts."The flag was waving! There is no wind on the moon!"Correct, but did you ever notice the thrusters were going?Faked moon landing is for burnt out hippies that live with their mom at 40.Don't go that route

Ummmm.....yes, we did, 1969. Visit any Neil Armstrong website.....
We don't go there now, maybe because the moon has no resourses that are usable. The point of space exploration is to help mankind in sustaining life, not spending money just to go the the moon every year......

We did go to the moon.
We don't have any reason to go. There's no resources ther, there are no plans for development there. It's also very expensive. And since we've been, there's not a whole lot of new stuff to learn from the moon.
