This is obviously only going to purely speculation, and this is not per say an equation, but here is a possible answer.

The Universe has undergone, perhaps multiple times, destruction and recreation of itself. Meaning all the matter, energy, and all of it's counterparts have been destroyed and recreated through a series of clashes with other universes*.

These collisions explain the "creation" of new universes in that the matter and energy are in essence "reset" and to continue on the course of natural evolutionary star and planet building as we understand it.

To explain the creation of life however may have been a more exotic emergence. Through these collisions each universe could have possibly shared information through matter and energy exchange in the collision. If life had existed in one universe, the information may have been passed through the collision. Therefore, the strings, through this pass of information, instinctively knew to aggregate when conditions were right for the forming of life.

Another explanation is that if Superstring theory is correct, strings disappear and reappear into and from another dimension and possibly multiple dimensions ( I will not elaborate on this due to time constraints, but this concept is not as exotic as most people think). If this is occurring, it could be another way information is being passed from one string to the other. And if this is the case, than perhaps all of the universes contain some lifeform or another.

Of course, everything from the big bang, intelligent creation, or superstring theory, are exactly that, theories. Until one can be proved without a shadow of doubt. Personally, I'm rooting for Superstring....lol.

"WHY" is not a question. It is a 3 letter word that can be used as an interrogative.
To make it a question, it needs to be punctuated, like this:
"Why?"

As for an equation, how about:
(23 + 8 + 25) * 0.75 = 42

Thus:
Q: Why?
A: (23 + 8 + 25) * 0.75 = 42

The assumption behind asking why is that there is a reason or purpose to the universe, life or whatever. There is no reason or purpose imposed on you by any thing out side yourself. What ever reason or purpose or answer you find to the question of why, can come only from something you find inside yourself.

WHY? So that new learning experience / observations can be had. The equation in mathmatical terms is not possible, perhaps in 'theory' but true figures can not be made. WHY? Because these new learning experiences and observations are 'NEW', new has too many varibles.

Why not?

Science does not try to answer the question why, instead we try to answer the question how. And that we are still working on, but we have some good ideas.

Science does not deal with "why" -- only "how". Any opinion as to the ultimate "why" of anything is pure speculation.

Sorry, you don't get an equation for "why."

Science isn't about either equations or why's. Go talk to a philosopher.
