Look on a cloudless night when there is no moon. Keep looking in the sky,. you will see one. At certain times of the year when there is a shower, you will see many. Do not look if you are near city lights. A rural area away from automobile lights is best.

Yes, I was on a ferry crossing Lake Michigan in the middle of the night. I was up on deck when the Captain shut the deck lights off, and there it was, streaking across the sky just under the full moon. I never seem to have a camera at the right time.

I saw several whilst on holiday in Spain this summer! I wasn't particularly looking for them but they just appeared! It was while I was sat up on our roof terrace just chatting with some friends. I saw them on several seperate nights but they were over quickly. It is quite an amazing sight though and well worth the wait up.

Yes. I did stay up late. And it was worth it. There were only a few of them at a time, but they were beautiful..like a silver glowing thread being pulled through the sky, very quickly. LOL.

They're really not that uncommon. I saw a few in one night once. Just get somewhere dark on a clear night and be patient.
