I recently read that gravity is the weakestforce in the universe in Neil Degrasse Tyson's book " just visiting this planet" .

That astounded me ! I thought it was the strongest !! So if that's not the strongest force what is?

Is there a scale of forces?

wow astronomy is so awesome!

Some one on here gave this answer :
every time we launch a satellite into orbit the mass of the Earth decreases.

Is that true? if so how ?
what would make it lose mass?

sounds fishy to me so I thought I'd check it out.

They say that 2012 is the end of one galactic year and there will be great catastrophe and supposedly this is when the earth reaches the top of its axis and begins to go back down, it goes so far up while rotating and then it goes so far down and when it changes some say cataclismic earth events happen. What do you think?

how is did absolutely nothing produce something. Or how could matter always exist in a time based dimension. This is totally illogical because something cannot be infinitely old because it would require an infinite amount of time.

Some people believe the big bang, that from the reactions of objects in space created the earth and stuff, but yet don't believe that there was a god that had something to do with it. If you believe in the big bang, what created that stuff, which created that stuff, to have a reaction to create the earth and stuff. Why don't people notice how magical/unbelievable for a big solid thing (watermelon) to grow from a little tiny black seed, or how another creature is made, from inside a human, thats nothing but guts and meat in the inside!

I know this sounds strange but I was walking the other day and I was thinking about highschool chemistry and science and started thinking about matter- how it already exist, cannot be created or destroyed, only transformed. Then how does anything grow- such as a tree or child? Other than water being the main mass made up of that matter, is the rest all nutirents? If a tree starts out as a seed, what goes into the tree as matter to make it as large as a tree (I understand about the tree dying, decaying and returning the matter perhaps the the soil. Same with a human. (I've been reading way to much Douglas Adams- sorry!)
Any insight into this would be great!

Here a strange little story. When i was five years old, my father said once that he was going to stay late to watch TV. The next day, curious, i asked my mother why ? She tried to explain to me: man has walked on the moon for the first time in history .I answered: no, that's cinema, if man had walked on the moon, i would know, that's my domain!
