I agree with pito.

The Moon's name is Moon.

Of course, that's the English name. You will find that each country with it's own language has it's own name for our satellite. Even Hawaii has it's own name for it called Mahina.
So the answer to your question is there are many names.

Some of the more common names, other than Moon, are Luna (Latin), Selene or Artemis (Greek), Chandra (Indian sanskrit), Quamar (Arabic), and Yah or Yareach (Egyptian and Hebrew).

The official name for the moon is simply "the Moon," but many refer to it as Luna. It's really a stupid thing that NASA hasn't done anything about this.

The latin term for our moon is LUNA. This root word gives us many other words that were based off of fears that the moon could cause illness and insanity. Lunatic is a good example. Loonie is another example. Hope this helps.

The moon's name is actually Betty Lee, but she prefers to be called Betty by those who know her. She really tries to be quiet about the whole thing, what with the man in the moon rumors.

The "moon" is in astronomy called a satelite. What we call a satelite is manmade, but a "moon" is a satelite.

I would say that it is a satellite called the moon.
