A man (or a woman!) wants to buy an engagement ring. S/he has a choice of 4 metals (gold, silver, platinum, titanium), 3 stones (diamond, emerald, ruby) and 3 cuts of stone (Tiffany, square and round).

Assuming they must choose one specific type of metal, one type of stone and one cut, how many different ring combinations do they have to choose from?

For several reasons I have suspected that I am being surveilled. Occasionally there are two male voices that call out certain things whenever I am in certain rooms, or even places within rooms. This seems to be harassment based on eavesdropping. I learned from a security expert that this is a technique often used by the FBI to listen in on people without placing electronic bugs in the premises. The expert said it's likely a laser or sonar beam is directed at my windows, turning them into microphones. When I place a white noise generator next to a window, I can clearly hear the sound of these same two voices, as if they are talking on a walky talky. But it is very faint and occurs "inside" the sound of the white noise, so a regular tape recorder does not pick the voices up distinctly. But the voices definitely are there and have been heard by others in my house. I am not crazy, nor am I involved in anything illegal. I need to capture these voices to prove this.

Ever wonder How come you only come across a majority of sightings with apparitions that the clothes they claim to see them wearing appear in only apparel date back over a couple hundred years (ex: Indians, Settlers, 1800's , early 1900's, dress etc.) ???? I mean how come there really haven't been any Cave/ice age men sightings i've heard of ya know???? This includes E.V.P. Recordings how come we haven't ran across a dinosaur's Roar on E.V.P. ;) ? I have my thoughts and opinion what is yours? People asked me this before i want to see what you guys think?

I'm staying at a relatives house for the first time. I was looking out their window and I saw a white shadow go by. It was like a woman figure. Hair in a bun. And then she looked straight at me and then disapated. I got the chills & I'm a skeptic. I didn't tell no one and then next day I heard a story from my uncle about a ghost woman around here that everyone sees. Could it be??

when u dissovle solid AgCl in water

the Ag and Cl ions seperate

say the solution is at equilibrium

if u just add more Ag ions then the dissolving of AgCl should be suppressed (thus lowering the solubility of AgCl) due to the common-ion effect so that the concentration of Ag ions can be reduced right?

but then wont suppressing the dissolving of AgCl also lower the Cl ion concentration ? since each Ag ion would be bonded to a Cl ion in the solid form?

if im right, then how do u really get back to equilibrium state?

if im wrong, correct me and explain please?

To have a big bang, you have to have material (matter) to go boom. All the matter that was available at the time had to come from somewhere? Also, when and where did time start, before or at the time of the big bang? My thinking is, time is realitive to matter. The first atom represents the beginning of time. If you could, keep it simple. I understood the bang therory well enough to ask the question, that is about it. Thanks

I've been puzzled by the idea of building efficient roads based on the following criteria:
1) Minimize total length of roads built (each mile costs 1 point)
2) Minimize distance required to travel between any two cities specified (each mile costs one point, with total distance score = sum of roads required to travel between all distinct pairs of cities)

Notes:
Ignore existing roads in this problem. You are building roads from scratch.

Ignore topography. You can build roads anywhere.

Roads do not need to connect two cities directly... you can have "ghost nodes" between cities that roads connect through, if that makes your system more efficient.

Where would you put the roads to minimize total points? What technique did you use to determine your solution?

No, I'm not in college taking a final exam. I'm just personally curious about this problem.
