log(base 5) 200 has the right answer as (A)

(a), 2 + log (base 5) 8 = log(base 5) 5^2 + log(base 5) 8
=log(base 5)25 + log (base 5) 8
= log(base 5) 25*8
= log(base 5) 200;

(b).2log (base 5) 8= log (base 5)8*2
=log(base5)64

(c). 40log (base 5) 2=log(base5)2^40

log(base 5) 200 is not log 200/5,
assumin that in the last log you mean the natural logarithm

The formula is

log (base a ) b = log (base c) b / log (base c) a

Therfore, in case of natural logarithm that you simply write log, you have

log (base a) b = log b/ log a

So, going back to our case, we have:

log (base 5) 200 = log 200/log 5 and this is not log 40

Simple

Log (base 5) 200
= log (base 5) (25*8)
= log (base 5) (25) + log (base 5) (8)
= 2 + log (base 5) 8

This is your answer. Which is option A.

Thank you.

log (base5) 200 = log (base5) (8)(25) = log(base5)8 + log

(base5)5² = log(base5)8 + 2 log(base5)5 = log(base5)8 + 2

Answer A
