There has been discussion in the scientific world of being able to change the characteristics and traits of humans. Talk of being able to make us see infrared or echo-locate by taking genes from certain other organisms is very interesting. Also interesting is the prospect of parents being able to pick and choose the characteristics of their offspring (e.g. blond hair, musically talented, tall...).

What are some advantages and disadvantages to that? How would it change society?

Give references to the movie GATTACA if possible.

ive seen sharks in the aquariums and they are never that big. they have small mouths. In the movie jaws the shark was bigger than the boat and had a HUGE mouth, it looked like it could eat the boat. Was that really how big some are or an exageration? Because you usually hear about how they bite off arms or legs and this one looked like it could swallow 10 people whole.

What has confounded scientist is the FACT that the massive fossil record revels NO TRANSISTIONAL LINKS between one MAJOR kind of living thing and another. So what the fossil record says is just the OPPOSITE of what was expected.....Botanist Heribert Nilsson says "The LACK of transistional series CANNOT be explained as due to the scarcity of material. The deficiencies are real they will NEVER be filled"....Zoologist Harold Coffin adds "If progressive EVOLUTION from simple to complex is correct, the ancestors of full-blown living creatures in the Cambrin should be found-but they have NOT BEEN FOUND and scientist admit there is little prospect of their EVER BEING FOUND".. Evolutionist Edward Samuel says"No biogeographical distribution or of the fossil record can direct support evolution".....Dr Carl Sagan says - The fossil record evidence could be CONSISTENT with the IDEA of a GREAT DESIGNER.......(Now I ask all of you WHICH REQUIRE MORE FAITH....EVOLUTION OR CREATION ??

How would I design a 2-column proof to verify this trigonometric identity?
(I can only use material up to pythagorean identities to solve this...such as sin2x+cos2x=1)

tan(x)+tan(y)
----------------------
1-[tan(x)*tan(y)]

=

cot(x) +cot(y)
-------------------
[cot(x)cot(y)] -1

(It should be in two columns on the same line but this thing deletes all the spaces and makes it look unreadable.)

i. e. does 12:00 AM complete the 12-hour PM-cycle or start the next day AM cycle? If 11:5999999999999999 PM is still Friday, is exactly 12:00 AM the end of that cycle (and part of it) or the beginning of the Saturday cycle? Does 'both' settle the argument?

Consider two buildings of different size but similar structures.

One has just a ground floor and has three rooms. It is prefabricated.

The other one is bigger, has 4 floors, and many rooms in each floor (about a dozen). It is also prefabricated.

Noone is artifically heated.

Does it make sense to say that you feel more cold in the first building than in the second?

Well... in order to fold 4 floors, I assume the second building has probably a more solid structure...
But even if it were the same materials...
Or could anything else justify why we feel more cold in the first building than in the second...

I need to know this in oder for people not to say I'm being unfair in my complaints...

Thanks in advance.

Question for any of you with insight into the astronomical world: Isn't a large scale impact on Mars a BAD thing for humanity? In the news they keep saying how "excited scientists are," but couldn't this set back our society for potentially decades? Wouldn't a large scale impact make the Mars environment too hostile for human exploration, and being that it's really the only planet other than ours that we can explore safely, leave us with a great deal of lost opportunity until the planet stabilized?

Obviously there are still many other bodies worth exploring, but Mars I'd say is the most reasonable foreign body other than our moon. Even to go to the Jovian moon's would take a great deal more advancement and travel time.
