I have this problem in algebra that I have been working on all day now. please help. solve. -3(x-3)+8(x-3)=x-9 thank you.

- 3x + 9 + 8x - 24 = x - 9
5x - 15 = x - 9
4x = 15 - 9
4x = 6
x = 6/4
x = 3/2
x = 1½

-3(x-3) + 8(x-3) = x-9
-3*x -3*-3 + 8*x + 8*-3 = x - 9
-3x + 9 + 8x - 24 = x - 9
-3x + 8x + 9 - 24 = x - 9
5x - 15 = x - 9
5x - x - 15 +15 = x - x - 9 + 15
4x = +6
4x / 4 = 6 / 4
x = 3 / 2 = 1.5
