ok what i'm looking for is...
two people have to pick 2 numbers from 1 thru 150.
say 2 of the 150 is blue and the other 148 are white.
what are the odds that the two people will pick the 2 blue on their first try? or i just need the equation and i will figure it out...thanks!

At a coast line I found a shell in a tree back in the nearby forest. Going back to my geography lessons, would this be because years ago the coast line was where the forest used to be, but due to succession and longshore drift, the coastline expanded outwards?

Yreka, California, being a town founded by mathematicians, is a town with East-West streets numbered 1 through n and North-South Avenues numbered 1 through m. A taxi cab picks you up at the corner of 1st Avenue and 1st street, and you wish to be dropped off at the corner of mth avenue and nth street. Since you are a smart student, you are obviously not going to permit the cab driver to drive longer than the necessary (n − 1) + (m − 1) blocks and charge you more than the minimum fare.
In other words, the cabby must always be increasing his street number or his avenue number. Suppose there is an accident at the intersection of street i and avenue j, for some i,j where 1 < i < n and 1 < j < m. How many routes can the cab driver take to get you to your destination while avoiding the intersection with the accident? Justify your answer.

Why doesnt this work? Do not think of the question in any other terms than the way it is presented:

3 brothers pay $10 each for a room for a night.
total $30

Bellhop returns 5 of the $30
each brother keeps a buck and gives the bellhop 2. This reduces each brothers cost by $1 to $9 for a total of $27, bell hop got 2 for a toal of 29 what happened to the 1?
