Chemical reactions are the basis of life, digesting your food, carrying oxygen to your cells, transmitting electrical impulses to your brain. Cooking your food is doing chemical reactions. plants are doing chemical reactions using sun light and converting CO2 to O2. I could go on. It is why they teach chemistry.
