The drawing shows a circus clown who weighs 960 N. The coefficient of static friction between the clown's feet and the ground is 0.52. He pulls vertically downward on a rope that passes around three pulleys and is tied around his feet. What is the minimum pulling force that the clown must exert to yank his feet out from under himself?

like, i can't even find a place to start. it is 11:30 at night and im tired and just want to finish this homework and go to sleep. please, Please help me. you don't even have to fully explain your work. i just need help.

the drawing is like this
5 is osn top adjacent to 3. 4 is down more on the same line.
There is one line going through 5 and 3 to make an angle. Another line goes under 4 to make an angle.

The steel I-beam is basically a crane with a triangle it is liftling. the triangle is isosceles with two 70 degree angles and one 40 degree angle. it has a weight of 9.30 kN and is being lifted at a constant velocity. What is the tension in each cable attached to its ends?

i know that the velocity is constant so a=0, and the sum of the forces =0. and i know mg = 9300 N, not 9300*9.8 m/s^2. You do not multiply by 9.8, since you are given the weight, not the mass.

so....

t1~tention 1
t2~tention 2
in the y dirrection: t1 sin theda1 + t2 sin theda2=0
in the x dirrection, t1 cos theda1 + t2 cos theda2=0

i understand that if you make a triangle, t1 is the hypotenuse, t1y=1/2 fg, and t1x would be one the bottom.

so t1y=1/2mg/sin70

that is as far as i could get with this problem. see, i really did try to do it. i just can't finish it. please, PLEASE help me. i really am trying!

what does that sign mean?

for example:
2a^2 = 14^2 = 196
a^2 = 98
a = sqrt (98)=7 sqrt (2)
perimiter = 4 a = 28 sqrt (2) inches =
about 40 inches

I am confused so bear with me. From what I understand I can look up an object’s Declination/Right Ascension and use this info to know where to look for that object in the sky. Is this correct?

If Mars is listed as being...Dec: 23degrees21min, RA: 06h02m
Can I use this to know where to look?

If its declination is 23 degrees this should be at the Zenith for anyone whose latitude is 23 degrees. Right?

Declination is directly related to latitude which seems pretty straight forward, but there is something about right ascension that I don't understand.

Where is RA measured from? I know it is measured eastward from the March Equinox, but how do I find where the March Equinox is?

And yes I deleted this question the first time. Sorry about that. I got so confused I had to scrap it and start from scratch……and Rev. Einstein I did read your response and appreciate your input.

Chemistry.....Help!!!?
I can't figure this dang thing out:

Assume the reaction of 51.47 g of Ge in the following reaction to determine the other quantities.

3Ge + 2N2 -> 1Ge3N4
moles of Ge reacting =
moles of N2 required =
moles of Ge3N4 formed =
mass of Ge3N4 formed =

I have ge and n2 as .71 and .47, which are correct, but I can't seem to figure out that last two. Please help!!!

I can't decide what I want to do with my civil engineering degree when I get out of school... As far as I know I can go into design, or I can go into something like field work or construction management. As far as I see, there is more money in design, but I think I'd enjoy being out doors on projects more. I would like the design to, but just not as much. Does anyone have any opinion on this situation...is there money in managing out in the field?
