I understand the way we see colour but what i dont understand is why certain things absorb & reflect certain types of light is it what the are made of? Like the elements or has it got to do with something else? Like whatever it is that makes the plants green (i forget what its called) it absorbs red & blue light but reflects green light, why? is it just because that the way it is?

A student wants to determine the coefficients of static friction and kinetic friction between a box and a plank. She places the box on the plank and gradually raises one end of the plank. When the angle of inclination with the horizontal reaches 34o, the box starts to slip, and it then slides 2.7 m down the plank in 1.7 s at constant acceleration. What are (a) the coefficient of static friction and (b) the coefficient of kinetic friction between the box and the plank?

Two bags contain coloured balls.
Bag A contains 5 black balls and 3 white balls.
Bag B contains 6 black balls and 5 white balls.
A ball is drawn at random from Bag A. If a black ball is drawn from Bag A, it will be put back into Bag A. If a white ball is drawn from Bag A, the white ball drawn will be put into Bag B. A second ball is then drawn at random from Bag B.

(i) Calculate the probability that the two balls drawn are both black.
Ans: 15/44

(ii) Calculate the probability that the two balls drawn are of a different colour.
Ans: 83/176

there are n people, standing in a circle, first person have a gun, he kills the the person standing next to him, and passes the gun to the next living man, the person who recieves the gun, does the same, this is continued till 1 person in the circle stays alive with a gun. i want to know the number of the last man who is alive with the gun.
example; n=5, first guy kills the 2nd one and passes the gun to the 3rd guy, 3rd kills 4th and 5th recieves the gun, 5th kills the 1st and 3rd recieves the gun, 3rd kills 5th, so 3rd survives.

Since some people say that aluminum is a cause of alzheimers disease, I know many people won't use deoderants any more that contain aluminum. Also since heating plastic has been known to have dangerous cancer causing fumes, what about heating aluminum pans in the oven?? Could aluminum give off anything (fumes, chemicals, etc) when heated to high temperatures?
