I was at Boy Scout summer camp in New Jersey. They set up a TV in one corner of the dining hall, and crammed every scout in the camp into the place so we could watch and hear that historic event.

parked on my couch, nose 'glued' to the tv, beside my baby son and hubby.... we were just gobsmacked by the whole deal!.... so amazing!....both of us had to go outside that night and look up at sweet Luna to wonder at the idea.... the whole time since the launch, we'd been holding our breath that nothing would happen to those brave, brave men and then, to know they'd landed... wow, relief!... had to think about their wives then, too.... cannot imagine how they did it, sending their love off to the moon.... and when that foot came down those steps and hit the surface of the moon, well, I about PMP with excitement!!.... WE DID IT!!!.... and when the dunces come in here and argue that it's a hoax, I want to shake them HARD!!!....

I was in Frankfurt, Germany, on my way to East Africa to do research. I saw the landing on a TV in the hotel bar. I was just lucky that my flight was delayed in Germany or I wouldn't have seen it, because I would have been airborne at the time. Because I was in Europe, it was daytime, not night.
