Question 1:

Find an equation of the line containing the given pair of points. Write your answer in slope-intercept form.

(1, -5) and (5, 3)

Question 2:
Write an equation of the line described.
Through (-2, 7), perpendicular to 2x + 7y = -53

With question two with trying to find the slope I end up with;
y=-2x/7 - 53/7 and thats where I get confused

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

a) Assuming a uniform acceleration, what is the velocity of the insect after it has accelerated through this short distance, and how long did it take to reach that velocity?
velocity 3.94 m/s
elapsed time 1.065*10^-3 s
How high would the insect jump if air resistance could be ignored? Note that the actual height obtained is about 0.7 m, so air resistance is important here.

1. An unknown solid acid is either citric acid or tartaric acid. To determine which acid you have, you titrate a sample of the solid with NaOH. The appropriate reactions are as follows:

Citric acid:
H3C6H5O7(aq) + 3NaOH(aq) ---> 3H2O(l) + Na3C6H5o7(aq)

Tartaric acid:
H2C4H4O6(AQ) + 2NaOH(aq) ---> 2H2O(l) + Na2C4H4O6(aq)

A 0.956g sample requires 29.1 mL of 0.513 M NaOH for titration to the equivalence point. What is the unknown acid?

The question is;

Find an equation of the line having the specified slope and containing the indicated point. Write your answer in slope-intercept form.

m = - 1/3; (11, -2)

So far I've gotten this;

y - (-2) = -1/3 ( x - 11)
y + 2 = -1/3x + 3 2/3
y = -1/3x + 3 2/3 - 2

But where do I go from there? and am I doing this correctly? Thanks.
