I am an oncologist. Yes, all kinds of needles. Not mentioned above is the bone marrow needle used for marrow biopsies and aspirates. No one enjoys that test - though it isn't much worse than a dental extraction if done correctly. Oncologists probably use needles more than any other specialty. We treat cancer through the blood stream, so we must have venous access. And yes we do tap fluid out of abdomens, chests, and of course do spinal taps.

ofcourse...they use em for difft things...y...it think all doctors use needles...for oncologists they use em to put stuff in u take out blood the basics, chemo..but then they can also like put them in ur back to take out fluid...but it depends on the situation....um i hope i dint freak u out

Sometimes, lots of things, giving IV's (Chemo), drawing blood, Doing needle biopsies, all that doctor nasty stuff.

Once they used Radium needles. No longer in use.
