An owl is at the top, a starling is next, then grasshoppers, then grass. Which organism has the MOST energy available to it? I thought grass at first, but then I thought that the grass might just have the most energy in it, and that the grasshoppers have the most AVAILABLE. I'm not sure, so someone who is positive please help.

help would be GREATLY appreciated!

1. What is the wavelength of light (in meters) whose frequency in the FM radiowave region is 103.9 MHz?

...and the really tough one...

2. The absorption of a photon of wavelength 6.71x10^2 nm causes an electron in a certain molecule to go from one energy level to a state of higher energy. Absorption of energy in this range causes an electron in the valence shell of a molecule to move to a higher level. If the higher electronic level has an energy of 4.840x10^-19 J, what is the energy of the lower electronic state?

1) 0, 4, 8, 21, 52, 65
2) 15, 26, 40, 16, 37, 58

I worked all day on these problems and feel rather confused :(
I would appreciate any help.

for uniform motion, the line in a d-t graph is horizontal and in a v-t graph, the line is horizontal. I did an experiment where i have to push a cart and calculate the position and velocity of it for 1.0 second. However ,when I graphed the data, the line was not straight. What are some unavoidable sources of experimental error that might have cause my graph to differ from what was expected?

The lob in tennis is an effective tactic when your opponent is near the net. It consists of lofting the ball over his head, forcing him to move quickly away from the net (see the drawing). Suppose that you loft the ball with an initial speed of v = 18.5 m/s, at an angle of = 46.0° above the horizontal. At this instant your opponent is 10.0 m away from the ball. He begins moving away from you 0.30 s later, hoping to reach the ball and hit it back at the moment that it is 2.10 m above its launch point. With what minimum average speed must he move? (Ignore the fact that he can stretch, so that his racket can reach the ball before he does.)

Would you put 3.5 cm or 3.50 cm or 3.500 cm. I don't understand how many significant digits there should be. Can someone please explain it to me so I'll know how to measure anything?

You are the district attorney. You face 10 court cases a year and have a $100,000 budget. In any given court case, the probability of winning is equal to X/2000, where X is the amount of the budget spent on the case. If a defendant is found guilty they must pay a fine of $2000.
a. What is the expected amount of fines the DA will collect if plea bargains are not allowed and the DA’s budget is distributed evenly among cases?

Thanks. I don't know whether I did something wrong here, but I divided 100,000/10 and I got 10,000. I then did the equation 10,000/2,000 and I got 5 for the probability, which I know is wrong because Probability isn't suppose to be greater than 1. Did I do it right? How would you approach this problem?
