while spider sense could well be up there, and the shadow stuff was cool, there are some that really get you thinking, and i like that.
in marvels new "initiative" comic, theres a kid who's power is to sense what someone's fear is and make them see him as that fear. it can be anything, snakes, spiders, the fact that your father never loved you, whatever your nightmare is, he makes you live it. its pretty crazy stuff. he could essentially distract anyone to the point of nervous breakdown, because everyone's afraid of something.
they had one character in the past that only had the power to come back to life after being killed, which meant that he was only good to his team when they needed someone to do something that'd get you killed. the only catch was that he didnt come back to life right away, and he still had all the injuries from his previous life. so this guy just had to live through constant pain and agony.
dc has a character called "ragman" that wears a suit of tattered rags. each rag is from a person who died and couldnt pass on till they made up for their sins. now, when ragman goes into battle, he has various powers that he feed off the engergy of the souls who are willing to fight with him to atone for their sins, and once they've made up for their sins, he no longer has their power. so, his power levels are never the same, and the souls in his rags need time to heal just like a person would.
i dig the little spins on classic powers like that. sometimes its not just the power, but the rules that go with it, that make it interesting. like in the spawn comic. when it first came out, he only had so much power he could use before he'd be sent back to hell. so, he's trying to do good, but if he uses up his strength, he goes back to hell. and everytime he kills a bad guy, he's sending a new soldier to hell, meaning when he gets there, there's more people there to torture him.
lol, i could go on, but i'm gonna stop there. lots of different characters have had cool powers, but like i said, sometimes its the story that goes with it that makes it cool.

I used to like the one that the Shadow had - "the power to cloud men's minds so that they can not see him."
I sometimes wonder if women criminals could spot him or if an AK-47 could kill him in a sweep of bullets even if he could not be seen.
