So, let's take a paradox - two things that cannot exist together.

Let's assume that the two things DO coexist.

Is this possible??? Huh, is it???

We build swimming pools in East Central Florida. When we dig in certain spots along the Indian River, we hit sections of coquina, which is made up of little petrified shells all compressed together. Sometimes it is as hard as rock, not that we see much rock in Florida, lol.

What time period do these shells date from and does anyone know what they are called?

According to Brian Greene's book, The Elegant Universe, page 329, "... a three-dimensional sphere inside a Calabi-Yah space can collapse without an ensuring disaster, because a three-brane wrapped around it provides a perfect protective shield." Then on page 324, he writes: "... the three-brane can wrap around and completely cover a three-dimensional sphere. ... a three-brane has three extended dimensions." Then, on his CDs, he ask the question: could our universe be a three-brane?

So, is a three-brane small like the Planck distant or somehow large like our universe? And, what would cause space to rip or tear in the first place?

Some modern toys are now manufactured with sensors that read & respond to brain waves. As headphones can also be used as a microphone, and a microphone can be used to emit sound (though each operates less efficiently at the task for which it was _not_ designed), might it also be possible to "transmit" a signal from such a sensor that could provoke some sort of response in the brain via the same features the brain uses to broadcast brain waves?

I once read in school that magnetism comes out of one side of a magnet, goes around, and then goes back into the other side of the magnet. Like making a circle.

Do we know HOW magnetism is moving out, and in, the magnet?
What is making the - energy? - that makes magnetism, move?

I think of energy stored in a battery. But in a battery, the energy goes out, does not come back to the battery.

y^2 - 7y = -10.

I am supposed to divide -7 by 2 (or in half).
and then square that.
well -7 divided by 2 is -3.5
-3.5 * -3.5 = 12.25
then I am supposed to add 12.25 to both sides. well should I round it off to 12?
what did I do wrong. I always have a hard time figuring these when the coeffient of the variable is an odd number.
thanks if you can help me.
