I know that before the industrial revolution began the Earth's atmosphere held close to 23% oxygen, and that humans start to get dizzy in rooms holding only 15 to 17 % oxygen, but what is the mandatory % of oxygen for humans to breath and remain concious? Also, what are the current oxygen ratios to the Earth's atmosphere at the present date of August 1st, 2007?

Genetics and Throwbacks?
I was reading the other day about a South African girl born to white parents. The parents had had black ancestors, and although the parents *looked* white, they still had the black genes in them, and they produced a black child. (This is true-http://www.geocities.com/kempcountrymen/sandralaing.htm My question is, could the same happen with Asian parents producing a black child, or black parents having a white child? I'm guessing it's different. I'm curious to know.

(Just want to say, I am in no way being racist.)

A cylindrical tank is on the ground (lying on its side), is only half full of water, and has a radius of 1ft and length 5ft. The cylindrical tank has a pipe coming out of the side of the tank (so it is pointing upwards because the tank is on the ground on its side). The spout that points straight upwards is 1.5ft high (so total distance from ground to top of spout is 2r + 1.5ft = 3.5ft). Set up the integral to find out how much work needs to be done to pump the water out of the outlet to the top... water density is 62.5lb/ft^3 ). Do not evaluate integral.

so far I have:

(∫) from 0→1 [(10[1-√(1-x²)])(3.5-x)(62.5)]dx

and the variable x is the the distance from the ground at point 0→x, which points upwards...

If a natural disaster occured, would people be able to get their prescriptions?

I take several medications and even though I wouldn't die if I didn't have my medications I would be in a lot of pain. I always wondered if they brought you medication, or if you could go get it in another area not effected by the disaster, or would you just be SOL? Would they provide only to the ones that need the medication to live or would they provide to everyone? Or no one? Does anyone know what happens to people who have prescriptions in this situation?

My buddy just called me and advised me that this morning he had vivid visions of an impending attack on U.S. & Russian infrastructure simultaneously by terrorists. The areas affected would be oil, water, and food supplies. Neither of us subscribe to much to psychic abilities and other super natural phenomenon, but he said that this was not the first time. He had a similar feeling but to a lesser degree back in 1999 and we all know what happened shortly there after. What do I do? He said he confided in me because he is at a loss and was hoping I would have some idea of what to do. Typically, I have a nack for coming up with solutions to complex problems or issues. I gotta be honest, this one has me a bit stumped and a bit scared.

Why is it that pulse pressure (diff between systolic and diastolic P) is chronically increased by arteriosclerosis? It has to do with elastic arteries being less stretchy but how?
also, at the end of the arterial tree, there is no elastic rebound of vessels and so pulse pressure has disappeared? what does that mean?
Thanks.
