Surely we don't believe that millions of tonnes expelled hydrocarbons annually is more environmentally friendly than long term storage of a few tonnes of radioactive material?

Fact - The fuel is very cheep and the European and American designs have comprehensive safety features.

Fact - The people running them in European and American are very competent (highly degreed and very well trained).

Fact – would really reduce the green house gas affects.

Negative Fact – Bad Management of Three Mile Island in the USA and Chernobyl in the OLD USSR).

By the way, I am part of the Oil and Gas Industry, so no gain from me, just a question!

if space can be warped by gravity. then wouldn't you be able to base a warp engine on some kind of massive pseudo gravity generator? like some useless star that we implode and use it to travel vast distances. of course we have to get to the first one first, but after that its all gravy. and maybe we can develop the technology in route scince we'll have a few lifetimes to get there anyway.

i don't know much if anything about extreme science but i can appreciate what some of you are working so hard at. i was looking at the picture of the "rotten egg" nebula. it is so beautiful i can't get the questions out of my mind, i mean i did the math and discovered it was like 8 trillion miles long! amazing! i was thinking, "what if its not natural? what if its a glimpse of a warp drive engine in full afterburner. crazy, i know. but it got me to thinking... is there somewhere in the hubble images where we could actually see space "bend" and wouldn't that show us that what you cats are talking about is more than theory? my hats off to all you quantum "nerds". i believe that if man can concieve of something than it probably can be done! keep on rockin'!!!!! i'm not overly religios but i do believe that when it all comes together science and religion will meet at the same conclusion, and it brings the bible to mind where god says, " seekmeandyoushallfindme". why do zeolots persist?

So how can I measure the pressure from the second room when the door opens? Because I need to get How much air has been transferred when the door opens... Thnx

I know that a tomato seed when placed with pulp of the same variety of tomatoes will not germinate even if the other factors for germination are there since the pulp is a germination inhibitor.

But how about a tomato seed that is placed in the pulp of another kind of tomato's pulp? Does it still not germinate? And if possible, could you explain why?

can anyone explain to me the effects of alpha, beta particles and gamma ray radiation to our body? regarding their penertrating power and ionizing capacity.

SAID:
A. alpha: very little pentrating power and are able to ionize a large number of atoms within the small area they were able to penetrate.

B. beta: they can penetrate paper or several millimeters of skin and about 1-metre of air. they are absorbed by aluminum or Perspex, a few millimeters thick. their ionizing capacity is less than that of alpha-radiation.

C. gamma: it has no electric charge and has great enetrating power. not even a thicj\k piece of lead or concrete will stop all of them, although, their ionizing capacity is smaller that that of beta-rays.
