1] 1.321 x rt3.4, now, rt3.4 approximates to 1.8, {since 18^2 is

324, and 19^2 is 381}, so we`ll take rt 3.4 to be 1.8, so we get

1.321 x 1.8, {1.321 x 2 = 2.642}, so an approximation is

1.321 x rt3.4

= 2.5, and to one significant figure is 3.

2] This becomes, 3 x 10^5 x 10^6

= 3 x 10^11, in standard form.
