Ra -226 -----> Rn - 222 + alpha radiation + E

when alpha decay occurs alpha radiation is emitted plus an amount of energy, and the parent nucleus transformed to another nucleus, and this time, a less unstable daughter nucleus

If I remember right, radium has the atomic number 88.
So 88Ra226 - 2He4 = 86Rd222.
