They have been used to study probability so I thought you maths folks would know.

You put a marble in the top and it can either fall left or right. If the marble went right it can fall right again or fall back to the centre. If, however it fell left first time it can now fall further to the left or fall back to the centre. And so it goes on.

After several layers the marbles are collected and a probability distribution can be observed.

The reason I am so interested to know is because some scientist used one to study the effect of experimentor bias on out come.

He asked subjects to will the ball to the left or right and remarkably the distribution did indeed go where they willed it to.

I read 2 articles about water way up in the Mesosphere (possibly cometary water)
http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m1200/is_n8_v152/ai_19731995
"Reservoir of water hides high above Earth - water vapor in mesosphere"
http://www.highbeam.com/doc/1G1-20481255.html
"Water, water, way up high.(researchers find increased concentrations of water vapor in the middle layer of the atmosphere)"
How much water can the mesosphere retain before we have a disaster on our hands and it all comes crashing down on us?
If it comes down, will it release the Kinetic energy cause when it entered the atmosphere in the first place at thousands of miles a second,
OR, has that energy already been radiated back into space.

thank you for your answers

I have this rock which looks like a normal lava rock (dark red color, full of holes, like a hard sponge) and I have had this rock for about 10 years. It's been sitting in a box the entire time. I was soaking a few of my shinier stones in regular tap water and threw the above stone in as well (not sure why, just did) and it sat in the water about 5 minutes (no more than 10) and it now has this bright green moss like stuff growing out the holes! There was nothing on this rock, but this stuff literally grew within minutes. Any idea what the heck is going on? Maybe I was wrong about the type of rock? The moss-like vegetation is a super bright green, it's remarkable.

You know how people say space has no ending, but yet I believe everything thats physical, has a beginning and a end at some point in time. Yes I am a Christian and believe in god, but you know how god was always here (no beginning), I mean if you take gods lifetime so far back, I sure that there was a beginning, now it may of been a long time ago. Do you think there is another place after you have gone so far in space, just like you go so far in earth, and end up in space.
