You know how people say space has no ending, but yet I believe everything thats physical, has a beginning and a end at some point in time. Yes I am a Christian and believe in god, but you know how god was always here (no beginning), I mean if you take gods lifetime so far back, I sure that there was a beginning, now it may of been a long time ago. Do you think there is another place after you have gone so far in space, just like you go so far in earth, and end up in space.

There are some questions that will never get answered. We as humans on this planet earth in this universe could be part of something much larger. I'm sure parts of atoms such as protons and electrons have no idea the actual scale of the universe and how important they are in the aspect of our existence. Maybe it is the same way for this universe and you and I as human beings. Maybe we are part of something much much bigger.
I believe in the persuit of truth and I believe in God. It's simple, if God didn't exist I wouldn't believe in him. But there is one question that science hasn't answered. How do you get something from nothing? Why does anything exist at all? The materials that make-up this computer I'm staring at didn't come out of thin air. It's just insane to me to think that their is no god or some kind of supernatural force that created everything. I realize that I don't have all the answers and the complexity of this universe and it's mysteries are just too complex to imagine. I think we are a small part of something much much bigger. People shouldn't judge others religions and beliefs but instead keep an open mind. This was an excellent question!

Let me make you an analogy. I think you would agree that the surface area of the Earth is finite. However, where is the beginning and where is the end? That is the same situation with the Universe. The Universe is embedded in 4 dimensional spacetime. Humans, however, cannot imagine 4-D space. All we can do is to imagine a 2-D world in a 3-D universe, hence our analogy.

If you are a Christan and you believe in God, there is no way you can justify not believing in First Cause. You can take the history of God back as long as you like, but somehow he/she has to come into existence, ie has a beginning. Then you have to ask what caused God to come into existence, then what caused the thing that caused God to come into existence and so on and so on. The only solution that Christans can find is to say that God has existed forever and there fore has no beginning.

This is what you said "You know how people say space has no ending, but yet I believe everything thats physical, has a beginning and a end at some point in time."

Space is the absence of matter (stuff) so there is nothing physical about space! The age of the universe is based on how far you can see with your instruments. Space continues on forever, there is no wall that says space ends here!

Scientists have no idea what the singularity of the big bang came from. What could have existed to cause the formation of this pin point of energy that appeared about twelve billion years ago? Was it nothing more than a void? Apparently not, there is no acceptance in the scientific community that a void could ever exist, this is just another way of saying that there has always been energy or matter. To me, this is a cop out, it defies logic to think that there was always something. Energy can be described as 'nothing,' it has no mass but it can become mass, it is not a large leap to consider that nothing can become energy. Imagination has always been an important element in the development of the laws of physics. What has happened to the imaginations of today's scientists?

You can equate God with Space. That's a good analogy. God is everywhere, has no beinging and no ending.

The UNIVERSE, as we accept it, is based on all the MASS that has always been around and always will be around. It cannot be created nor destroyed. It is eternal. It can only be converted.

If you were at the EDGE of the Universe. If you were equal with the Gamma Rays from the big bang and you lifted your arm and held it out two feet, you have just expanded the universe in that area.

The edge of the universe is that point which is on the other side of your finger, but as you move your finger forward you move the edge of the universe.

Since we EXPECT that the edge of the universe is not solid (like a balloon or membrane) you can't feel it.

We have to think in abstract terms, just like we have to do with God. God is an abstract, which is why so many people like Atheists can't deal with God. They can't deal in "sky daddy" and "imaginary friend"

Well you have to IMAGINE something that DOESN'T EXIST, something called ABSOLUTE ZERO.

That area out there that is ABSOLUTE ZERO on the KELVIN scale is on the OTHER SIDE of OUR universe.

The GAMMA RAYS from the Big Bang generate enough heat in kiocalories to give a +3.6 degree Kelivin signature and that is how we measure the EDGE of the universe.

As those GAMMA RAYS move out at the speed of light they RAISE ABSOLUTE ZERO KELVIN up to +3.6 DEGREE KELVIN.

The EVENT horizon would be that part of space where 0 KELIVN is on one side and +0.00000000000000001 Kelvin is on the other side.

That is your "membrane"

And it expands at 186,000 miles per second.

The Physicists Plank says if you look at something you change it's nature. Hence if you are on that 0.0000001 Kelvin edge JUST LOOKING OUT at 0 Kelvin, you have changed that area and basically expanded the universe by YOUR INFLUENCE.

And Atheists and Scientists called REligious people weirdos!

This is how they think, they can't prove it, but they can describe it with math.

To define the PERIMETER of a circle (and the Universe is considered to be circular) you multiply a fixed radius or cross section by an infinate irrational number (Pi).

Hence the edge of the universe comes from and irrational.

The belief in God is considered an irrational concept.

And that's your physics lesson for the day!

There are multiple theories and theses on how and what and why th universe was created (sorry bad grammar). One is that 2 giant branes large things containing many density's (universes dimensions(thingy majigs and dohickies)lol astronomy can be funny :P) in them that have to activated by kinetic energy shock. Another one is that yes it has no beginning or end.(which I think is impossible because infinity is a number greater than any other one.) The big bang theory.
The one where we are a leak of another universe. Then another one that Planets are like quarks in atoms which are universes which are within molecules which are dimensions and it goes infinitely both ways which I also think is impossible Mr.infinity. Lol ^_^.

The universe is a finite entity with a beginning and an end.
It is an incident that runs it's course goes out of existence and never occurs again.

Read up on some string theroy and M-Theroy(really the same thing). This newer theory does not disprove god, but offers an idea that what we precieve as the universe may be limited and there maybe more beyond it.

According to the big bang theory (which is, of course , just a theory) all the mass in the universe was once confined to a single point which then exploded out and will either keep on expanding forever or eventually, after billions of years, compress in a "big crunch".

actually acording to the big bang theory there is an edge to the universe. however it is expanding at the speed of light and since matter cannot move as fast as the speed of light we will never be able to observe the limits of the universe.

also, where did this god come from in the beginning?
