I took Precalculus (college) in the spring semester. The teacher mostly taught advanced algebraic equations and went over functions. She didn't cover SIN, COS, TAN at all.

Are these required in an AP Calculus class? Should I get some type of prep-book before I take the class?

Any help would be appreciated. I'm nervous about taking this class. I have a 4.0 up until now and would hate to lose it in this class.

F is a vector field, f is a scalar field

One of the definitions given: ( f F) (x,y,z) = f(x,y,z)F(x,y,z)

So I have to prove these:

curl(fF) = fcurlF + (del f) x F

and

curl(curlF) = grad(divF) - del^2 F

Thanks.

A 28 turn circular coil of radius 3.00 cm and resistance 1.00 is placed in a magnetic field directed perpendicular to the plane of the coil. The magnitude of the magnetic field varies in time according to the expression B = 0.0050t + 0.0380t^2, where t is in seconds and B is in tesla. Calculate the induced emf in the coil at t = 4.20 s.

If a supernova were to take place in our galaxy, what is the maximum distance in light-years it could be from our solar system and still have the radiation from it turn our planet to plasma or slag (or both). Would we have any warning or was to detect it before the radiation front hit us. If you predict we could know it was coming before it destroyed us, how long would we have to wait? Notice I am looking for a maximum. Obviously a nova in closer proximity would do the same damage but the time from event to destruction would be a bit shorter.

I've had my current telescope since I was 8...It's nine years old, and I do believe I'm ready to graduate from such a childish scope to a serious, hardcore scope. So, I've started looking around, and I basically have fallen in love with the Orion line of telescopes. I'm having trouble deciding between the Orion AstroView 6 EQ Reflector or the Orion StarMax 127mm EQ Maksutov-Cassegrain. I did, at one time, have my heart set on an Orion SkyQuest XT 8,10,12 Classic Dobsonian. I couldn't make up my mind which Dob to focus on. I live in a converted car hauler. One half is a class room for my sisters and the other half is my room. My family travels. Alot. I don't need severe portability, but I do need to be able to *carry* it up and down/in and out of my trailer. That's what made the dobs unappealing. I've heard the slightest bump, and you have to realign it. I'm on a tight budget. Nothing over $800 is possible! Please help me pick one! Forgive any spelling errors. Suggest an eyepiece too!
