when you have something liek this
you are looking for the the least multiple and the lowest degree term because you can then take that out in this case it is -4 because everything else is a multiple of -4
and the lowest degree of w is 1 hence take -4w out and
when you do that

-4w(w^2+4w-5) = 0 now to check your answer, if you distrubute the -4w, you will end up with the polynomial that you started with.
Now that the -4w is out you can factor what is remaining inside like shown below:

-4w((w+5)(w-1)) = 0

We have a common factor 4w, which it will be convenient to express as negative. This gives:
-4w(w^2 + 4w - 5). The quadrilateral easily factors to finally give -4w(w+5)(w-1).

= (-2w^2 + 2w)(2w + 10)

or

= 4 (-w^3 - 4w^2 + 5w)

or

= 4w (-w^2 - 4w +5)
