I am installing a mono headphone jack into the speaker mic of an old Motorola 2 way radio. I want the speaker to cut out when I plug in the headphone. Do I need the 2 or 3 lead jack, and how do I wire it?

just imaging if a person is kept in a dark room for six month with out daylight but with other fecility like food & toilet. after six month he wake out of room. will he be able to say it is day or night . he will not have a clock with him or tv , radio. but the time he will wake of room that can be sun rise time or sun set time will he able to say the right time or it will be day or it will be night
