It looks really weird. There is the moon and then there's a huge circle like circling the moon. I don't know how go explain it. It sorta reminds me of an 8-ball. What causes that? Is it like an eclipse or something?

question- there are 12 points in a plane out of which 5 are collinear. The maximum number of distinct quadrilaterals which can be formed with vertices at these points is_____ ??
my answer-
quadrilateral can be formed of four points, so i take 4 points out of 12 in 12_C_4 ways.
then, these also include the quadrilateral formed by 5 collinear points (which actually form no quadrilaterals) , therefore, i subtract 5_C_4 from 12_C_4 and i get the answer as 490.
BUT THE ANSWER GIVEN IS 420.
plz help me........im totally confused to why im getting the wrong answer....

I often see small airplanes across the clear blue sky leaving sort of smoke/fog forming a line spliting the air. The airplanes go back and forth and in time the sky is not as beautiful as it was with those smog spreading all over.

Are they trying to create clouds in dry weather to induce rain? For what its worth I hate see my clear blue sky ruined.

I also read about these people in an old National Geographic magazine i had and it made me think about genetic drift and genetic diversity, could this genetic trait be the result of genetic drift?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vadoma there's the link about these people.

I'm thinking of writing a sci fi story. Humans have colonized the Jovian moons. Being humans, they create huge amounts of waste and garbage (from things imported from other planets.) They use Jupiter as a big garbage dump. How much garbage would they have to toss onto Jupiter before it becomes so massive, it turns into a star? Is this even possible- is it correct to assume that adding mass will eventually cause the planet to become a star, or are other conditions needed?

I realize that garbage might not be nearly enough to tip the scales. Do you have any ideas on what humans COULD toss into Jupiter, or cause to crash into Jupiter (like asteroids... "Let's get rid of those pesky asteroids by shoving them into the nearest planet! Traders between Earth and Jupiter always have to go around the darn things...") Is that enough mass?

I mean once the box is open its gona be terribly hard to shut if at all. While its true that great good could come from it so could great bad as far as for humans that is. Its probably great for anything that can use nanotechnology better then us... Examples might be intelligent micro organizims and such... How are we to say there arnt any intelligent life forms smaller then us living on this planet just waiting for us to build nanotechnology for them? I'm not saying this is a huge possiblity but wouldnt it be nice if we could just take a break from advancing technology and instead try to learn what all we can do with the technology we have now and expand our minds before we go into the next level of technology...

I'm having a lot of trouble with this. i get 1/x+y(1+dy/dx)=
I don't get how to differentiate the right side. In an example in my book they used 2^2/x and set the exponent to u making it u=2x^-1 and found du/dx= -2x^-2 or -2/x^2. and then plugged into the original problem you get -2e^(2/x)/x^2. i put the paranthesis there so it doesn't get confusing. so if anyone can help me get the right side im sure i'll be able to solve this problem. thanks again =D

my detail button doesn't work so i hadda to post again!! thanks loll.
