If the universe was to decrease in size, what would be on the outside?
And if it was to expand, what would it expand into?

An online physics text after several editions consists of a page of erroneous facts regarding the kinetic energy theorem. These errors where discussed on this site and were resolved in the authors disfavor.

In summary He asserts
1. In kinetic energy theorem K=1/2mv^2, the 1/2 is an arbitrary constant whose value is dependent on the unit system used. Under the metric system the constant is 1/2. The metric system was used to make the kinetic energy equation more managable at
the expense of other formulas.
2. the equation cannot be derived from principle but must be experimently determined.

RESOVLED-The THEOREM is mathematically derived. The 1/2 constant is independent of units.

I emailed him and unprosumptiously pointed out the error. However, he still asserts he is correct using arguments that rely on his initial error.

I want to give up because I don't think he will listen, but it bugs me that other students will be learning incorrect information.Should I pursue it further?

I'm doing a science project involving balsa wood bridges and I need to measure their weight in grams. They are very light so it has to have good accuracy. Please keep in mind that this project is a one time thing and I don't want it to be expensive. Thank you very much!

all my ancestors had kids at 18. all my friend's ancestors had theirs at 36. I have less facial hair than my friend, do not like boxing, and read more, but am less instinctive and athletic. Over the past 2000 years his family has had half the number of generations as mine. Am I further down the evolutionary line? Or just jealous of his hairy chest??
Does this theory make any sense?

I understand how natural selection works and consider myself to have a relatively high level of understanding of evolution in general, but if you take things down to the level of DNA as a chemical, what is it getting out of it? Does it even benefit at all (like a lower energetic state etc.) or is the chemistry detached from the biology at this point?

1)Na+/k+ AtPase of animal cells
Advantage of antiport system: charge compensation
3:2 ratio of Na+/K+ transport compensates for ion leakage differential.

2)Aquaporin
H20 molecules become aligned by interaction with ASN molecules at constriction sites

I'm talking about genetic engineering, and mutations that naturally occur, (but not seen a evolution in process,) so doctors work out ways and means to stamp out these genetic "abnormalities"?

I'd say evolution would not occur this fast! I'm interested in seeing what people have to say.

Thanks!
