Barring a planet-killer asteroid impact or similar cosmic calamity, it's virtually certain that the human race will still be around for thousands of years. Our race is nothing if not adaptable: humans can survive without modern technology in all environments from arctic to blazing desert.

We don't currently have the ability to wipe out human life on earth even if we tried. Global warming is a non-issue when it comes to human survival: the planet has frequently been hotter than it is today. Nuclear and biological warfare, while disastrous, would not wipe out the human race. At worst, they might bring about a collapse of modern civilization, leading to mass starvation - but even then, there'd still be plenty of survivors - and the worst case scenario really isn't that likely to happen.

There will be wars, of course. I fully expect to see nuclear war in my lifetime, although not on the "mutually assured destruction" scale. However, you will probably live to ripe old age in a society that's even more advanced than ours is today - and the same is doubly true of your kids. Stop worrying, things will be just fine in the long run.

I actually watched on the history channel that there is a chance that earth may JUST be missed by asteroid/comet/meteor in the year 2029. They also said if we avoid that one, (either the same one or another one) there is a chance we'll get struck in 2036.

Also, Al Gore made some documentary, or is in a documentary about the effects of Global Warming. They've got some crazy pictures of mountains from thirty years ago covered with snow, and today with barely any. That's called "An Inconvenient Truth". I only say previews for that, but, I am definitely interested in seeing it. Especially since i just watched The Day After Tomorrow.

Hope that helps...just remember, we're just a speck of sand in this HUGE universe, and Deep Impact, TDAT, and Armageddon ARE NOT far fetched concepts.

If you watch thses movies, focus more on what the scientists are saying rather than the sidebar love stories. They're not gonna load up the movie with false information.

Hope that helps.

It takes a lot to completely wipe out a race of anything. If our habitats are destroyed, food source gone, climate changed, surroundings altered, then there is a high chance that we will become endangered. It'll probably take a full alien invasion and extermination to cause a full extinction of the human race. I wouldn't worry too much.

probably not, as to the human race ever going out of existence, i doubt it, although from what the scriptures tell us, the end times as they are referred to, and the final day, the end of time, will occur (this is my own theory around a thousand to eighteen hundred years from now, based on the current jewish year, subtracted from the numerical conatation for G-d, this is only my own theory as i have given this some thought, but the human race going out of existence i would say NO, not even i doubt it, No is the answer
