I want to sleep in a greenhouse with plants around and I wonder if it's dangerous because of the CO2.

No, you've got it backward. Plants breath in CO2 but they breath out Oxygen. They are the opposite of animals in that way. That is one of the major gripes of tree huggers. Plants produce oxygen, thus making our breathable air.

OK, obviously a few of you know nothing about plants.

Yes, plants do produce oxygen- hooray for elementary school corriculum. During photosynthesis the final electron receptor is a broken water molecule, and for every two waters, an O2 gets produced. Well done.

However, for all the food that plants make, it wouldn't do them any good if they didn't actually use it to grow. This is where respiration come in. Respiration is the process by which organisms break down carbohydrates (in this case the food made during photosynthesis) and use oxygen to produce energy- the stuff needed for life and growth. ...which is shunted to energy-storage molecules like ATP, NADPH, et. al.

Different plants produce different amounts of CO2 under varying conditions.
To you, this matters not.

Your entire life, you have been sleeping in the giant greenhouse known as the biosphere (earth, if you will) and have not yet suffocated.

Now, were you to try to sleep in a small, airtight container without a plant, then you might worry.

I used to get into arguments about this with people....read in a book when i was little.....just found it in my basement to double check.

A child's First Library of Learning : Flowers and Trees

At night Trees do release CO2....... I'd assume since no one talks about this that much and focuses on how they produce O2, the amount of CO2 produce is minimal and can almost be considered zero. They didn't' go into much detail about this in that book, just mentioned it, but went into the details of photsynthesis

The question is why would you want to sleep in a greenhouse? Plants are gross. Flowers are disgusting and smell bad, and there might be bugs....bugs are evil. Should sleep by a campfire instead, or sleep in your room, but close the door and windows and light a entire pack of cigarettes first. Smoke smells better

You put out far more CO2 than the plants.

Don't worry about it unless it is a very tiny greenhouse

it wont be dangerous ... the amount of co2 produced by plants at night is very less ... birds and animals dont seem to be having problems sleeping in dense forests.

Plants do not give off CO2.They use CO2 and give off oxygen.Only problem with sleeping in green house would be if you have allergies or allergies to mold and mildew,Because of wet dirt and high humidity.
