The lethal adult dose of codeine can be 0.5-1.0 grams (500-1000mg) The usual total daily adult dose would be 60-240 mg (a 15-60 mg dose 4 times a day). Codeine is metabolized into morphine, and overdose can result in respiratory failure and cardiac arrest. This is treated primarily with a drug called Narcan and respiratory support as needed. It is important to note any other drugs mixed with the codeine. Codeine is often available with acetominophen (same ingredient as tylenol) and some people will OD on tylenol because they do not realize it is in both medications.

Your 100 lb adult friend should use the codeine as her doctor prescribed. If she is unsure about the instructions, she should get clarification from her doctor.
If your 100 lb adult friend is feeling depressed and is possibly considering suicide, she should see her doctor immediately.
If your 100 lb adult friend is considering partying with codeine, she should see her doctor immediately and look into being put on other pain medication.

Your girl needs activated charcoal NOW. She'll very likely have a bleeding ulcer if you don't get help soon. The vet will administer the activated charcoal, and it will absorb the gunpowder. Though you must go now. Hopefully with urgent care, your pit will not have long term damage. So hurry!
