I am trying to create a small balsa wood bridge to hold upwards of 20 lbs (top loaded). The design calls for two parallel arches (per plane truss); one with a radius of six inches, the other a radius of four inches. I'm limited to 0.125"x0.125"X36" strips. While I've already constructed a jig, I have not found a decent method of softening the wood to a point where it can manage this extreme bend without snapping. I've tried steaming and soaking with no success.

I would like to know whether CO2 can be ionized to beak it down into pure carbon and pure oxygen by heating, and whether that would occur at a low enough temperature that it could then be filtered to separate carbon from oxygen. Maybe the constituents could be seperated using an electric field?

you know those oneway mirrors where there are strips of mirror with plain glass strips in between? if you altered the ratio of mirror strip width and plain glass width to maybe 50-50, would you be able to see both mirrorwise and glasswise at will? if you changed strips to dots of mirror and glass, would you be able to see both forward and back thru it? would this then mean you could cover a large area, say, the top 5 inches of your windscreen with this halfwindow half mirror to give you a larger rear vision? ie, clearly see all sidelanes behind you and have no blindspot? also, the mirrorglass could be applied flat to the windscreen instead of sticking out into the interior, by having the little dots or thin strips of mirror set in the glass or plastic facing the right direction for rear vision? would this save the cost of sidemirrors? could it be made of plastic that just sticks to your windscreen? with the direction of the mirrordots adjusted to curve & slope of windscreen?
