Mr. Z is the most correct of the above answers, however, technetium (number 43) is also man made.
So there are 91 naturally occurring elements and 25 man made elements (as of today).

no ELEMENTS are man made since they are the smallest unit possible and cannot be broken down into simpler substances. In order for something to me MADE, many things have to be put together to make a new thing. Marie Curie might have DISCOVERED those elements but she did not CREATE or MAKE them.

Marie Curie invented Radium and Polonium if im not wrong.

most of them occur naturally, some have been prepared in labortories and so are so reactive that in their pure state they cannot exist in nature
