Terraform...Make earth like, as terraform an inhospitable place to an earth like oasis.
Other than using autotrophic(extreme area) bacteria to produce oxygen, along with lichens and mosses along the equatorial areas that already get above freezing in the Martian summertime, where would would you begin? Would you do it remotely, with robots similar to the Mars landers, or would you send someone there to "seed" the planet with what we think would be helpful organisms to cause global warming through a greenhouse gas buildup similar to earth's?

I applied to take the Civil PE Exam for October, in the state of georgia. I got a letter yesterday stating that I had insufficient experience. I have been working for 52 months, the state of Georgia requires, like every other state, 48 months.

The letter stated that I have only 26 months of adaquite engineering experience. 22 months of my experience was in the state of Michigan. In the next few days I'm going to send a form in to request to have an informal conference. No one in my firm has seen anything like this. Has anyone else? Any suggestions so I can get this accomplished and sit for the exam in April. What are they looking for as in experience?

I heard about a Dog once that some Russians tryed to send into orbit and it died. why can't we figure out a sucessfull way to get them off the Earth? I mean if were going to move to another planet someday how can we do that if the only Animal that are good for space travel are monkeys. I mean were going to have to figure out a way to transport livestock without killing it during the Launch.

Plain black. Spans about half the size of an adult thumb. Can jump atleast 3 ft high. 2 front legs are longer. One day it jumped right past me but I ignored it.

Recent incident: I saw it on the basement stairs and it hid from the sound of my footstep. But then I stomped my foot and it seemed to have jumped in my direction, but it hit accidentally hit the stair wall that blocked the path between us. Not sure if it was trying to attack. I'm having a hard time figuring out its species. Identifying its name or species would help. thanks

I know this seems like a dumb question, and the answer seems obvious, but if you think about it, it's really not. I've seen it asked before and it is considered one of those inexplicable conundrums. I've never heard a good answer, but I'm sure somebody can come up with one. Another similar one is if that to get from point A to point B, you have to go halfway (call it point C); then to get from C to B, you have to go halfway again, and so on. So if you have to keep going half the distance before you reach the full distance, how do you ever get to point B, your final destination? Again, I know these seems obvious, because you eventually get there, but I have yet to hear a good explanation.

I remember when I was a little girl, my scientist grandfather set up his sundial with concern to direction and something about the Northern Hemisphere to get the correct time.
I bought one because it reminded me of him, but I cannot remember how to set it.
Anyone out there know?

Don't answer with " not eating" or "Munchies" or other duh reasons.

Serious correct answers will be considered.

Is it a bio-chemical signal to the brain caused by the shrinkage of the organ itself ? Is it the function of the fundus that queues the autonomic response to be hungry?

What or how is the signal sent?
