Is it a bio-chemical signal to the brain caused by the shrinkage of the organ itself ? Is it the function of the fundus that queues the autonomic response to be hungry?

What or how is the signal sent?

To put it simple, Its the hunger contraction cause by the stomach when the stomache is empty. ( waves of peristaltic movements on the surface of the muscles of stomache)

Stomach is innervated by sympathetic and parasympathetic nerves which is the autonomic system. Sympathetic will set in when u are taking in food or when u are in a tensed situation in which all the activities to produce energy wil be stopped.

However, parasympathetic reation sets in when u are sleeping. Its is supplied by a nerve called vagus that produce acethylcholine which will induce the gastric emptying.

Soon after the stomach is emptied, there is mild peristaltic contractions. They gradually increase in intensity over the period of an hr. The more intense it is, the pain can be felt.

p/s: and im hungry too.. damn.

The acidity builds up in your stomach causing hunger pangs if you will. Cells in the lining of your stomach are secreting small amounts of HCl and digestive enzymes and when there is no food in the stomach to digest, these acidic compounds can cause pain. Additionally, after a mean your blood sugar spikes, causing a release of insulin from the Pancreas in order to tell the cells to take in this glucose... after all of the glucose is used up the blood sugar level will drop causing the pancreas to release glucagon, which also might tell our brains that we are hungry and need more glucose.

im not a doctor.not a scientist.not a naturistic sanator. im mani things but not those. but in the reads about this trate i have read...It happens because in stomach there are many neurotransmisors receptors.is one of the points in body with more of them.and the low moments during day or night of GABA & DOPAMINE are the problem who do us feel hungry. when gaba and dopamine ar high....no hungry problem.Vailum is Gaba(but dangerous) starter. ¿are you so much hungry when probed valium (not my recomendation)? gaba is the cause.and dopamine...well is the big cause for any adictive actitude.when dopamine goes down..adiction is here.meal or so. this is the reason why any blockers of dopamine recaptation stops hungry moments and many more things.BUT..I REPEAT.YOU WOULD HAVE NOTED.IM NOT A DOCTOR.but is my opinion in theory and my own experience.bye.

there are many theories on this (A) .Glucose theory states that we feel hungry when our blood glucose level is low. (B) Fatty acid theory states that our bodies have receptors that detect an increase in the level of fatty acid. Activation of the receptor for fatty acid triggers hunger. (C) Heat-Production theory states that we feel hungry when our body temperature drops, and when it rises, the hunger decreases. This might be explain that we tend to eat more during winter.
