I really have no idea, it just struck me, and I feel quite ignorant. We see galactic matter like stars , planets astroids meteors etc in the space. They say that the universe is expanding .For anything to expand , there must be continuity of the matter expanding . Otherwise we say things "scatter" or "drift"or "move away" only. A baloon expands when it bloats . when it is burst , it is not expansion . It is a burst or explosiion.because the matter scatters.Do the scientists include the space also while they say that the universe is expanding ? If so does the space really expand ? Space is emptiness -void -nothing . Can "Nothing " which is not a thing , ever expand?

This is one of those "IQ" questions that have been around for years. I would always work this out on a table with coins. It was great to do this on this website. Some rules:

Everybody must cross the river
Maximum two people on the raft at a time.
The father cannot stay with any of the daughters without their mother present.
The mother cannot stay with any of the sons without their father present.
The thief cannot stay with any family member if the policeman is not there
Only the mother, father, and policeman know how to operate the raft.
