Did Albert Einstein ever denied the existance of the Aether?

Wasnt the Aether considered motionless like the rotation of the Universe ?(if The Aether was was motion less it had to be massless ,Hence an invisible matter which would appear dark to quantum mechanics?)

In his postualtes that he use to develope the theory of special and general relitivity he did not postualte any thing on the exitsance of aether.

Rather he made this postulate "If aether exist it can not be observed to exist" It is just like Newton stated, A man in side of a ship can not know if the ship is moving. We are inside of aether, therfor we can not know if aether is moving around us, or if we are moving through aether, and there is no experiment that can be done to find out which is happening.

He did not say that aether does not exist, but he did say that it is not something that we have to worry about when discussing physics

Newton based his laws of motion on the concept of absolute space at rest.The concept of aether which was current at that time was thought to be at rest with respect the absolute space.But all experiments to detect the motion of the Earth through aether was unsuccessful.
Einstein postulated that the physical laws are the same for all observers at uniform relative motion with respect to each other. No observer can claim that he is at rest.The formulation of the theories of relativity by Einstein made the concept of absolute space sperfluous and so that of the aether.
