When a tiger is shaved, is there striped skin or solid gold skin underneath? I have heard both.

I know this one. Pick me! Pick me!

Actually, adult tigers do have striped skin pigment. The orangish colored hair is backed by a pale brownish pigment, and the striped areas are backed with a dark gray color. Neonates (newborn) have stripes that show through the skin from the backside when they are skinned (I'm a taxidermist, so have done some museum preps). White tigers have skin pigment only where the stripes are, and will sunburn where the hair is white.

I'm guessing that if there's still stubble it'll look striped. But if you shave it completely bald, not a single hair left, the skin will just be a pinkish color or something like that.
