In science class I am building a "solar collector", which uses the sun's energy to power something. In order to make it good, you must include some sort of insulating material to put in or on the box it is made out of. I have already decided to cover it with black construction paper (since black absorbs all of the colors of the electromagnetic spectrum). What are some other things I could do to insulate my box?

If a doctor thinks you have something wrong.. why do they do every other test first? Why don't they test you for the thing they think is wrong with you.. instead of wasting time testing for other things.. THEN test you for the thing they think is wrong?

EX: If a doctor thinks you have.... ALS.. why don't they test you for ALS? Why do they test other things.. and THEN test for ALS???

Makes no sence to me. Each illness has it's specific diagnostic tests and differential diagnosis. Why would they waste time ruling other things out when they could test for the suspected illness?

If not, I propose that at the center of a hoop (not in the hoop itself) of light there must be an area that every emanation of light would "miss". Infinity at its smallest existance, perhaps, yet a "lightless" location. (This also assumes a single point of reference touching the hoop. Not three points making a "T" to obtain the right angle "off surface".) This question is for serious physicists.

WHAT IS ITS SIGNIFICANCE IN OUR LIFE

I thought the log must be in the form of log(base)Value? This term, I always got it from medicine/biology paper that, they express the value as 3log10 (where 10 is the subscript). That is the log of base 10 without a value.
I always assume 3log10=1000. But don't know how to explain it.

By the way, I always see they wrote something like the blood contains 3log10 of substances., or 2.4-log10. etc

Thanks.

I have a basic understanding of kinetic and potential energy (obviously not enough as will become apparent!)

What I would like to know is after you hit a golf ball (or any other object), what keeps it moving forward? Its not like it has a motor stuff to the back of it, it doesnt expel any rear exhaust thrust.

What is actually moving it?

To help you understand how my mind works, I know why my arm moves and continues to move because I have muscles, a car moves because it has a motor, a fether drops because of gravity.

Hopefully someone can give me a laymans reasons why

Thanks

I am wondering wether or not to make one.

I know there is a way to make one using Drano and foil, but I don't want anything to go wrong. There is another way using H2O2 and Magnesium Oxide but I don't have those materials.

I am going to use the balloon method if that helps you answer.
