E.g. What size of cable do I need to carry 20 A of current?

Cables will be in trunking in bundles. UK standards please.

I'm interested in 20A, 13A, 10A, 5A, 2A,1A & 0.5A and less

Derate the current capacity for a bundle as it will get hotter.

For a 20 amp circuit, use 12 gauge wire. That American, I don't know how that translates to UK standard.
