This question is directed to how genetics effect belief or the amount of belief one has. Not what a person believes in. Is belief only socially engineered or does it have a core anchor that is defined by the genetic makeup that we are given at birth. I would like to know if there is specific research that backups any theory.

To define the question once further:
Is the degree to how much "belief" a human has genetic?
or
Is belief defined by our surroundings and social engineering?

Currently I'm still in my undergrad (majoring in math and getting a minor in physics) and I am planning on going to grad school.

I really love the theory part of physics, but hate working in labs (I did that pretty much all last summer and that is what made me decide to switch majors).

Also, I'm pretty fond of both the applied and theoretical sides of mathematics.

Anyway, I was just looking for some feedback maybe from some people that were in similar shoes in their undergrad years. What road you decided to pursue and were you happy with that decision?

Give an example of a function f: R^2 -> R which is continuous in each variable separately, but is not continuous at (0,0).

I presume that I need a function which is continuous along the x- and y-axes, but not along a line/curve like x = y. Does that sound right?

(I really need to take a class on this stuff so it won't bug me!)

Everytime I look at a clock its one minute before an exact time.
Like I look at the clock and it's 11:59, 6:59, and so on. When I wake up and stuff it's like that most of the time.
So what is the explaination of this?

Add all the numbers. What's the answer? This puzzle is on FTN quiz night. The right answer is worth anything between £20,000 and £80,000 and has been the subject of some discussion already. Everybody thinks it's easy, yet nobody has won the money, so maybe not so easy! Remember 2 things; it's a puzzle not a mathematical exercise and the statement "Add all the numbers". I can tell you the answer is not 43 or 37 or 33. You've got to think laterally. I have an idea of a potential answer but would be interested to see an answer that corresponds with my idea.
