If u eat a hotdog without properly cooking it will it affect the baby while you are pregnant?i don't know if i'm going overboard with this but i just wanted to know...is it ok?will my baby be ok?

I had an epidural with my first two babies and everything went fine. I have always wanted to go "natural" at least once.But I don't take pain very well. Could someone please tell me some of the ups and downs of not having one. Thanks

Yesterday was our 20 weeks scan with sonographer.
We expected it to take long time and do very detail checking of the baby, but it took maybe 15 to 20 minutes and I don't know if it was detail scan. To us, she was more like in a hurry.
I wanted to know if yours were same way or took longer time? I know there is 2nd level scan done, when the blood test and the first scan result raises a flag, right?
We are planning to ask our OB next Monday to find out about the result and also we will ask him about if that the 20 weeks scan we had done in a short time is normal...Please let me know how yours were...

when i asked him if he was going to check he said he doesnt like 'messing' round in there so not to set anything off. Was it because I was only 34 weeks? what if he wont check me today at my apt? at this point with my first preg. i was 2.5cm and 50%effaced and I was induced. doesnt my cervix have to ripe? should I be worried?

*sigh* I am 11 weeks pregnant and had a TERRIBLE morning sickness which is now almost gone. I am 5 5' and my normal weight is 118-120lbs. I usually eat a LOT but keep the same weight always. BUT I have the type of body that if I do not eat well for some weeks, I start losing weight fast!

Now due to my HORRIBLE morning sickness, I am now 112lbs and I am not gaining weight because my stomach shrank or something! I am able to eat good but NOT at the amount I used to eat before! I am very frustrated because I know I need to put on some pounds for this pregnancy to be good.

My doc did not seem concerned at all, but I am. Could you all please give me some healthy but fattening foods for me to eat so I can put on some pounds quick?

im 35 weeks pregnant and have aging placenta...accorrding to the guy who performed my sonogram he thinks im farther along then expected but im just confused about the whole thing and didnt get a good explantion ive been looking online all morning and cant really find to much about it...what is aging placenta? what are the causes? what effect does it have on my baby? what affect does it have on me? just ANYTHING you know pleaseeeeee tell me...i have to go in for NST((non stress tests)) every week now and im just confused and of course freaking out

I'm only 14 weeks and I'm not big enough to start wearing them now but I was just wondering if anyone knows of long pants. I need at least a 35" inseam and the only pants I've found that long are $200+! Thanks to anyone with suggestions!!!

I have some pain in my pubic/vagina area and sometime my lower abdomen if i push on the face part of my pubic area(where the pubic hair is) i feel pain and also inside my vagina i feel pain like a short stabing pain but this is not so often does anyone know what this might be??

I am 39 weeks pregnant...my duedate is next tuesday...i have tried alllll the natural ways to start the labor...walkin..spicy food..nipple stimulation...sex...birthball..etcetce...nothing helps.Baby not coming out...I feel lil contractions once in a while..but they dont hurt and feels more like the baby is trying to push herself down but just CANT GET THROUGH!!!2 days ago my doctor said i was only dilating ONE centimeter...
LADIES..what can I do..and why don't i feel contractions yet?? and when I feel baby pushing down .what does this mean??she is just getting ready?? How long does it take to go from 1cm to 10 cm...?? HELP MEEEEE..so frustrated

My friend and I are both pregnant. She is about 9 weeks and having the worst nausea I've ever seen. She already ended up at hospital once for IV fluids. She doesn't let herself get hungry and is staying away from fatty foods. I don't know what else to do to help her. Its not always in the morning, its pretty much always after a meal, which are small. Any suggestions of any nature would be so greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help.

She mentioned that if the baby stays like this, I will have to most likely get a c-section. Is there any way to prevent this surgery. I would love to see my baby born and not all drugged up and under surgery. She mentioned I still have some time that my baby could move in place. By inexpensive i mean at most $30 for a top and $60 for a pair of pants. It is rediculous how maternity is so expensive when you only wear them for a short time and they are never good quality. My second pregnancy and my clothes from the last pregnancy look so old

the last time i had sex i was 12 weeks into my pregnancy, we stopped to noticed i was bleeding a little more than usual, so i called my doctor, he seen me the next day, my cervix was closed and he told me it came from my cervix, he told me not to have sex, so i went in for an ultrasound about 5 days later and showed my little baby healthy.
the last time i have seen my doctor was when i was 12 weeks, i have been seeing the practitioner, and i was wondering if its safe for me to have sex again
i mean i was sexually active the first 12 weeks of my pregnancy and everything was fine,which is what i didnt understand why my doctor told me no sex.

could i ask the practitioner about this next time i go even tho she is not my doctor??

i was also wondering if other women think its safe for me to have sex, i won't do anything until speaking with my doctor but i just want to know what other women think

oh and im 22 weeks and 4 days

Hello everyone. I am 22 wks & 1 day pregnant today with my 1st baby. Please answer the following if you can:

1. How many weeks on avg is a woman when she has her first child? How many weeks pregnant were you when you gave birth for the first time?

2. I walk a lot. How will this affect me and my baby?

3. When you get an epidural, do you still stay numb while they're taking out the afterbirth?

My feet seem to have gone up a whole size after my twin pregnancy and now none of my shoes fit (I wore flip-flops during the whole pregnancy)! The swelling I had before seems to have gone; but now my feet seem bigger & wider. Will they go back to normal or should I just forget about ever wearing my old shoes again?

My doc said today that I am 2 cm and 70 % effaced and that the baby's head is really low, she said that there was no way i would go late that he will be here bythe 22nd his due date and that I probably wont have a long labor since he is so far down. This is my first pregnancy, has anyone's doctor ever told them this and then the baby held out for a few extra weeks. I was throwing up last night for no reason and feel really tired and crampy, hopefully he is on his way??

i have been on the depo shot for 4 years now. I have never been pregnant before, but im experiencing morning sickness. My boyfriend and I just got back together about a month and a half ago and we hvent been having protected sex. I was supposed to get my period about two weeks ago and all I got was a little spotting that lasted for a few hours. my boobs have been sore but not incredibly painful and ive been getting mildly queasy lately. I havent been feeling 100%, Ive been exhausted and falling asleep in class, I get aggravated easily, Ive been going pee alot more than usual aswell. Ive taken two at home tests and both came up neg. is it a possibility that im preg or could it be something else? I really woudl appreciate any insight so I can put my mind at ease, Im still in Highschool so its a little scary. . . please help. . .

I really need some help, okay..I don't care if it's illogical or not, you don't really know the situation and I feel no need to elaborate on it..but is there any way.....that I could jump start labor myself..make my water break..or make contractions start? I mean...should I run around the house like 20 times..or anything like that?

Missed my period and so on. Took a test yesterday morning for it to be negative so decided to take another in 1 week. However, all yesterday I felt little tiny cramping like the onset of my period, but my little tiny cramping tends to only happen within an hour of two of actually starting. This morning I awoke to excrutiating pain at 2 am. This type of pain was normal over 4 years ago before I got pregnant with my first, but has never happened since. And since cutting dairy out of my diet, those tiny cramping have been almost non- existent. So my main question is could I have miscarried or is my nearly painless periods luck run out?? I am asking for personal experience at this week time period because the books don't talk much on it! And I don't want to just go to the doctors because we are military and all other military I have spoken with that miscarried so early got routine DNC's even though they really aren't nescessary when the baby is still just a compilation of cells!!
