Pregnancy - October 2007

everything in labor seems to be tied together, everything serves a purpose, so i'm sure the pain must serve a purpose as well.
i've heard some people say it's becasue Eve at the apple & now all women are being punished (i don't really buy that, personally).
i think it's purpose is to show women how tough they really are, to show them what they can really handle. i think it's a rite of passage. something to help prepare them for being mothers.
i'm planning a natural birth (doing the Bradley method)

what do you think?

My friend just recently found out she was pregnant by a low life that just got out of prison (which is her typical dating style anyway). It's her fault because she didn't want to take birth control and he didn't like condoms so she let him not use them. She has a 18 month old son now (who she also did not want, but kept just to piss of her parents who are very racist) who is mixed black and white. As soon as she found out this time she called me & said she was going to have an abortion- I believe whole heartedly that the only reason for abortion should be in rape circumstances- she knows this. I told her my honest opinion and my mother offered to adopt her baby if she carried it (very serious about that offer btw). She said no & that she was hoping for a miscarriage. She went to her aunt's house and tried to induce a miscarriage with some sort of pill or herb and called me while she was doing it because she was feeling very sick. I told her tocall me when she was done doing whatever

im 37 weeks pregnant and last week i was 80% effaced and 2cm this week i lost my mucous plug.........and im wondering if castor oil would be a good one now to induce labor? and where do you buy it?? healthfood store or would cvs have it as well? have you tried it and what was your experience? also how much do you take?? thank you =P

well about 4 days ago i found out i was pregnant (home pregnancy test) the lines were so faint i waited another day or so and got a digital read out for better confirmation it read pregnant the following day i went to a pregnancy test center where its free without med insurance they use these dollar store brand test literally a dollar each.....right after i gave the urine sample i wiped and there was brown blood....i told the nurse she did the test came back negative weird then after about 8 min. aline showed up but they do not consider it positive results after 5 min. so i went home not even 45 min. later took my last home prego test and again it read positive? ok if i was not preg then i would have started my period yesterday when the bleeding started and since then it has continued with very mild cramping...i am aware of the signs of miscarriage as i have had one in the last year this does not feel like a miscarriage sorry this is so long thank you for taking the time Please help

well im 19 and have had a good life except i suffer with anorexia and bulimia (since i was 15) but all i can think about is babies. i really want one!!! Most of my friends got babies, some wernt planned but they love being parents. I think that a baby will help me get over my anorexia and bulimia cos thats all i have ever wanted, i love them and i know they cry alot and need a lot of attention and i dont mind giving up my time for a child to be in my life. Do you think that i am stable enough to have children yet? do u think it will cure my illness if i know i got to eat for 9 months due to carrying a child? Just want a bit of advice.......

I have been thinking about this for a long time and it really has me ticked off. I want some of your opinions on this too. I am open to what ever you say good or bad. Do you believe in abortion? Do you really know how they abort the babys? Do you know what happens to them after they abort them? I do and it is not a pretty site!!!!!!!!!!!!! The way I see it you made the mistake you knew exactly what you were doing when you did the deed. If you get pregnant then that is your fault. (I am NOT talking about the poor women who have been raped).There are millions of couples who would love to have a baby and can't. Why not give it to them if you don't want it? Some say the timing is just not right. Is nine months to long to put your life on hold for something as precious as a baby?
Do you realize that if your mother had an abortion and gave up you, you would not be here either?

my wife has a lot of pain with internal exams and she is being induced tommorow. she will opt for an epidural at some point and we are hoping that once she gets it, the exams will be less painful for her. how much can you feel with the exams when you have an epidural? thanks a lot.

I took the normal tests to screen for Down Syndrome, (DS) at 18 weeks gestation. The results came back that he had a 1 in 17 chance. He was perfectly healthy when he was born and we are contemplating having another child. It has been a year and a half since giving birth and I am now 35 years old. Aside from my age being a factor, I want to know if the risk of DS will be the same or higher or if the tests vary every time the same person is pregnant. Thank you!

is there anything that i can take to get rid of my infection besides antibiotics?? i know it wont go away fast but i have this burning sensation when i pee.... and when i have sex it burns when he puts it in, can that be of the infection??? also when were done it hurts and it gets swollen what can i do??? help me i cant have sex with out it burning...

I'm 19 and I did a pregnancy test and found out that I am about 5 months pregnant. I talked about the options with my boyfriend. I'm leaning more towards an abortion because this was accidental in the first place, I don't know how to tell my parents, I'm in college, the timing is really bad and I don't want my family to just see my boyfriend as "the guy who got me pregnant at 19". (I've been with him for more than 2 years now). He is supporting me in whatever decision i make, but I'm personally just having second thought about this. I know it's normal, but i would appreciate help from anyone who's had an abortion or was close to one, or just any advice at all.

In july i had a regular pd at the beginign of the month and towards the end.. i started bleeding again and it was not normal. this lasted bout 8 days and a normal pd is only 3 or 4. and it was fire bright red. i again started my pd the beginign of Aug. any idea why this was? someone told me it could be a possible miscarriage??

I found out a few weeks ago I had a short cervix, I also had high bloodpressure (which did go down), and a uti(the uti is cleared up now). Right after I found out I had high BP, the nurse practitioner said bedrest until monday and no sex. I went to the appointment that Monday and saw my real doctor and everything was perfect and I asked if I was still on bedrest and she said "Well you need to recharge your battery sometimes.."so it doesn't sound like it's strict bedrest anymore. I'm wondering if anyone knows if it's okay to still have sex though when you have a short cervix? I wasn't sure if that practioner meant no sex until that monday or for the rest of my pregnancy.

hi, im currently 31 weeks pregnant and my baby never seems to stop moving! I will have the odd period of about 5 mins without a movement and then its back into overdrive! its not really a kicky baby, it just seems to shift from one side to the other, all day and all night! im not complaining as i know its a good thing to have all this movement, although my bump is getting quite tender. I just wondered if any one elses baby seems to be constantly on the go or if you had a baby in the past that was like that in the womb but a lot calmer once born as they say that at this stage the babies sleep pattern tends to be like it will be once born which worries me as at this rate it will never sleep!

My abdomen has been achy for the whole 8 weeks, but now the right side of my lower back is sore. I read that lower backpain is a sign of miscarriage; but I don't know if its the whole lower back or just part of it. Also, I feel great today...not tired or sick like I have been. I have no unusual cramps or no bleeding or spotting. Am I just paranoid? I have another doctor's appt on Friday. Should I just swallow my concerns or call them now? I don't want them to think of me as the woman who cries wolf.
