oh, it's baaaaad! it didn't do a darn thing to start or progress my labor, but it did give me horrible vomiting and diarreah with stomach cramping for about 2 days. i don't recommend it.

It was a horrible experience. Did nothing to put me into labor. Your body will go into labor when it is ready. At 37 weeks you still have time. I didn't try it until after my due date. I have heard it works for some people just cause the cramping and intestinal upset kicks in contractions but it is very unpleasant. You will have intestinal pain and gas for hours and then you will spend hours on the toilet. It works like a super laxative. When all is said and done you will have one sore bottom. Also, if it does put you into labor, do you really want to contend with labor contractions on top of intestinal cramps and uncontrollable diarrhea? Not the best. If you are still tempted to try it, I would take no more than a tablespoon or two. You can buy it at any drugstore. I bought mine at Walmart. It doesn't have a taste really but it is very thick and has a bad texture. I put it in a half a bottle of coke and chugged it down and still almost got sick because of the texture. You will have this coating of the oil in your mouth that just does not seem to go away. Good luck.

Most ppl who say no havent tried it... I did it and everything worked out fine. I did it the day that I lost my mucous plug, went into labor that night and have my baby the next night. There were no complications. It works! You can get it at any grocery store or cvs is fine too, its with the laxatives bc it has that effect. I took 3 tablespoons full (I think)... I just took the most it said I could from the recommended dose on the back of the bottle.

It wont paintings, no longer something we can get our fingers on/do will enduce labour, i tried each little thing! infant will come even as this is waiting, castor oil might want to be heavily risky. even as i replaced into in labour I ran up and down the steps, i replaced into 9cm when I were given to the wellbeing center 2 hours later.

I say no way.. try raspberry leaf tea.. eat some fresh pineapples, go for a walk, have sex.. nipple stimulation.

I tryed Castor oil it gave me diarrhea,, stomach cramps,, made me dehydrated. No fun at all.
If your set on using Castor oil.. which I'm completely against go to Walgreen's they have it. Mix 2 tablespoons with 6oz of orange juice. Oh and try not to throw it up ;)

you lost your plug, why would you want to torture yourself with something that dosnt induce nothing..labor will come soon for you..There are very few things that help bring on labor (sex, nipple stimulation) but there is not much proof in it really doing the job, what people dont know is if they wouldnt have done something they thought would induce, would they have still gone into labor anyways??, Baby's come when they are ready, you dont have much more time to go so hang in there, dont feed yourself all that crap.. gl

No way....My advice to you is to go and rake leaves, clean the house real well, go for a long walk, and have sex (if having sex is ok with your doc). And do all of these the same day. I did and I had my daughter two days later. It was my docs advice to me. He said that 37 weeks is full term and do it all. Good luck and congrats.

Try jumping jacks. I know it sounds crazy but I went from 0-5cm in within hours. Worked for my friend as well.
