Pregnancy - October 2007

I'm 7 months along and I have been eating deli turkey off and on through out this pregnancy. Not until now did I hear it causes a serious sickness to the baby if caught (listeria). I guess it's very easy for pregnant women to catch. So, now I'm worried for my baby, what are my chances of having it?? It can happen w/out symptoms...I also wonder why some doctors like mine don't tell you not to eat deli meat if this is such a serious illness???

My baby girl recently died from brain damage and celebral palsy - I only got my placenta back and now they tell me its a twin placenta - so I am wondering if anyone out there has had twins with a Succenturiate Lobe twin placenta - I am thinking that maybe her twin did not form or develop and constricted her - they would have shared the same placenta so I guess they would have been identical too..but the weird thing is the one who survived for 3 wks - had the smaller satellite part of the placenta whereas the other one was not picked up on ultrasound perhaps the other one was just tissue - what do you think?

i had my son on august 28 and i am still bleeding. The bleeding started to fade from red to pink to brownish dishcharge and now i had dk red blood again.. so it really hasn't stopped. i go to the ob tonight for my check up and they are wanting to do a colposcomy(sp?) because while i was pregnant they diagnosed me with severe dysplasia. just looking to see if anyone has any suggestions to what could be going on or if anyone has gone through this.. thanks

Since a couple of days ago I have been having excruciating back pains.. Lower and Mid... braxton hicks contractions alot more often then a few weeks ago...I've been getting cramps and sharp pains in my upper belly.. the baby is already really low. I have 2 urinary tract infections since i got pregnant and they will not go away even with my prescription meds.. im getting so worried that he will be born early because of this... i have an appt on monday should i wait and just tell my doc or go to the er???

My b/f and I have been 2gether for only a month but been in love with eachother for 10 yrs. He is my best friend in the whole world and loves me VERY much. He's the greatest guy in the world to me. But there is just one problem. His divorce is over and mines not yet.....my husband is having trouble filing (LONG STORY WHY I CAN'T FILE), anyway we feel there is a very good chance I'm pregnant. Don't get me wrong, I WOULD LOVE to be pregnant with his kid, except...I didn't want it to turn out this way. I wanted to at least be married to him FIRST then have kids b/c I'd feel like we were getting married b/c WE HAD a kid, I don't feel like I could ever marry him if I am pregnant. He suggested the morning after pill but I'm not sure if I really want to take it or not. He wants kids with me so badly and I know he'll never leave I'm just really scared about everything, thats all. Like I said he's the love of my life but we aren't married, and didn't plan to for a few yrs due bad past exp. HELP

I'm currently 7months pregnant. I was a model before and my husband and I decided to have a child. I know I have a lot of weight to lose after my son. I was wondering if 23 is too late. I started at 21, which is still not 15 like most, but I do have a young look. I also know the top supermodels are 25-30...what do you think. I do have the looks of a model, many think I look like a young Adriana Lima but w/ lighter hair and skin...well, let me know.

we are trying to come up with a fun creative way to tell our family and close friends we are pregnant and due in June 08! We have been trying for over a year & 5 months. Everyone knows we have been trying, however we dont want to share our news til we are sure everything is going well with the pregnancy and everything is ok with the baby! We did get pregnant and lost the baby in May, at 9 wks. Our friends & family were so upset about the news! So that is our main reason on waiting til, I am past my 1st trimester or atleast had an ultrasound & showing everything is ok! We have 2 beautiful children now, ages 7 and 3 (in Nov.) our oldest is a boy & and the youngest is a girl! We havent told them yet either! We told them last time early on and we had to go back and explain that the baby had to go to heaven early, (when we miscarried) Any creative, fun ideas to share our news would be greatly appreciated! So I'm about 6 months pregnant, and this is my first, and I have NO idea what to expect as far as baby movement and how it feels. There's times I think maybe I feel it, then second guess it, thinking it's gas or something. I can BARELY feel it, like if I think I feel something, I have to hold really still, then I might feel a little flutter. For the first time the other night, I felt what I guess was kicking. I was laying in bed propped up on the pillow (which is usually the position I'm in when I feel anything), and I saw my T-shirt jump a little, lifted the shirt up, and on my left side, I saw my stomach twitching! Is this pretty normal? I guess I expect to REALLY know when it's moving, and to me, it's not all that obvious?

I've seen pictures of people who at 7weeks have a bulge in their belly and if you show that soon and there are so many pregnancy symptoms how come some people don't know they're pregnant until like months into it??

Last week I had an ultrasound to look at my liver, but she also scanned over my lower stomache. My question is: If she wasn't looking for a baby would she still have seen it??

i suffer from panic attacks and do not want to take medication because im 21 weeks pregnant. my sister took paxil during her pregnancy, when the doc said it was safe and her son has seizures from the paxil. so i cant trust when a doc says that something is safe. my question is, is it even worth it to tell my OB about this? i told him the first check up, he said we would monitor it. wow. no other form of help there. so i would like to know what the heck to do about all of this. i was on xanex to control these things but refuse to take that while im pregnant. there has GOT to be another way around all of this.

Hi,
I am 12 weeks pregnant. Yesterday, my friends cat 'stabbed' me with it's claw, and punctured the skin. The cat is more or less an indoor cat, sometimes goes out in the back yard supervised.
I am going crazy here, worrying that I have caught Toxoplasmosis. I called the vet, they said, you have to EAT the parasite to become infected. That put my mind at rest, but then after speaking the doctor, they said I could have been infected through a scratch, and they took blood today, to see if I have been exposed to the parasite before, if so I would be immune. They plan to take blood again in 2 weeks.
As I said, I have been just crying all day with worry about this. Can any one offer any advice? Is it likely I have got Toxo?

Hi everyone out there!!!! I went to my gynae today & he did a ultrasound scanning to my uterus. The scan showed empty uterus & he told me not to worry because if in this case, maybe I am not fully 5 weeks pregnant.

Then, he did a urine test for me & he confirmed its positive. He gave a folic acid & prenatal vitamin & asked me to come back after 2 weeks to have uterus scan.

He told me that if in these 2 weeks, if My Period Come, means I am miscarriage & if the ZIGOT (hope i am not wrong) in the outer of the uterus, it have to be abort.

I want to know if the urine test is positive but the uterus still cant detect it, means I am consider pregnant now????

Worried & ttc for 6 mths..... Thanks for all ur answers & baby dust to ppl who r ttc out there!! GOD BLESS!!!

Hi

I'm 12 weeks pregnant. When I woke up the morning and went to the bathroom, I noticed light brown spotting. So of course panicked and cried my eyes out in the shower. About an hour later is was completely gone. Has any one else experienced this? What was it and what did you do? Thanks so much!

Ok so i have read recently that you should not eat peanuts or peanut butter while pregnant or nursing to help prevent a peanut allergy, BUT how about other nuts? Or other nut butters? I do love a good PB&J sandwich every now and then so I was wondering if I should get a jar of almond or cashew butter instead. Any insight?
