Spotting is normal in pregnancy. Its not a cause for alarm.
Especially if you have had sex recently, within a few days or so. Your cervix gets irritated from sex, and the little bruises caused by sex bleed a little. The blood is some times passed right away, and red, or later, when its brown.
Or, you can even pass bits of brown or pink blood as the uterus cleans what small areas are not used quite yet. Thats also normal.
However, you should call your doctor just so it can go on your record, so your next pregnancies it will not be a cause for alarm if you spot again.

Yes, I also spotted in the 2nd trimester and everything was fine. Spotting can be a normal part of pregnany, but you should definitely call your doctor to inform them that this happened. Most likely, if you did not experience any cramping or pain or heavy spotting/bleeding, then everything is fine. But, your doctor may want you to come in to do an exam just to make sure everything is fine. My doctor did this and also ordered an ultrasound. They said my spotting could have occurred due to fibroids or just for unknown, not serious issues, which is often the case. Good luck!

My daughter is 14w 4d, and when she was 12w 6d she started bleeding. It was almost like a period. We all panicked and flew to the E.R. and they ran alot of tests including an ultrasound. Everything was fine. She continuted to bleed all weekend and it stopped monday morning.
It honestly seems pretty normal these days. My daughter, her friend (with all 3 of her pregnancies) and her boyfriends girlfriend, and my other daughters best friend all started bleeding at 3 months. In my day bleeding usually only happened when you were miscarrying. But today it's almost like it's a part of being pregnant. I would really like to know what's different today than 20 years ago. Try not to worry. Good luck and congrats.
Don't get me wrong though, you should go to the doctor to be on the safe side.

That happened to me right around the 11th - 12th week. My doctor said it was probably normal but to take it easy, rest lots, and avoid stress (hard to do when you're stressing about a possible miscarriage).
It went away after a few days, never was accompanied by any clotting, and I have a healthy 14 month old baby girl.
If you experience cramping or pass any clots, go to the hospital or call your doctor immediately. He will also instruct you to collect the clots to bring in with you for determining whether or not you're miscarrying.

Yes, at 8 weeks. I went to the doc, was put on bed rest for over a week, and it went away. Call your doctor, they will bring you in for a check up and possibly do an ultrasound to check you and the baby. Don't hesitate, when you are worried, you need the extra attention!

Call your doctor. I had this at eight weeks and I lost the baby. It could be nothing, it sometimes happens, but call your doctor.
Good luck!
