Last week I had an ultrasound to look at my liver, but she also scanned over my lower stomache. My question is: If she wasn't looking for a baby would she still have seen it??

I'd say no.

I specifically recall that at 5 weeks, the fetus is only the size of a grain of rice. So at 6 weeks, I'm going to guess that it's only the size of a pea.

I do recall that at that age, you see the pregnancy beter from the point of view of finding the gestational sac, it's much larger than the baby.

But for any ultrasounds to see the baby before 9 weeks, we've only had the transvaginal ultrasound.

So if you're talking about a "belly" ultrasound, and you're not looking for the baby, and it's only 6 weeks, most likely it would not be seen.

i'm common weight smart and that i had a vaginal ultrasound at 6 weeks; i imagine it truly is purely what they do once you're that early on your being pregnant. It changed into no enormous deal, not almost as undesirable as a speculum for the time of a pap. The wand changed into exceptionally small and they lubed it up :) There wasn't a lot to work out, notwithstanding it changed into nevertheless cool. It gave the impact of a bean with a flickering mild (the pulse!) sturdy success and congrats!

Maybe, maybe not. Usually that early on they use a vaginal ultrasound to get a good veiw of the sac. I am not sure if an external ultrasound could see.

at six weeks sometimes something can be seen but usually just a small amneotic sac and maybe a small dot. definitely not a "oh, there's a baby" type thing.

she was scanning your liver not your uterus, I highly doubt she would check for a pregnancy if she wasnt specifically asked to do it.
